Vintage Frills Beauty – Besame Crimson Rouge

November 5, 2012

For a traditional vintage make-up look, a little bit of rouge on the cheeks is essential. I was sent this beautiful creamy rouge from vintage make-up brand Besame to try.

Vintage RougeWhat They Say…

For instant rosy cheeks and lips there is nothing more timeless than our vintage inspired cream rouge. Just a touch of this concentrated cream will give you a natural flush, just like the very first time you were kissed! Apply with your fingertips to lips and cheeks. Feels weightless and blends beautifully with any skin tone. Designed to stay on all day, our cream rouge is sure to delight. Packaged in a vintage styled recyclable tin.

I must say I was very impressed with this product. The packaging is just beautiful and instantly makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time to the 1930’s. The rouge itself is smooth and creamy and glides onto the skin well. It is the perfect size to carry around and apply to the lips when needed and the colour is fantastic on both cheeks and lips.

Vintage Rouge

I’d recommend applying your base make-up then adding a few small dabs to the cheeks in a triangle along your cheek bones (remember less is more) then blend with a sponge before applying a little powder and rouge to the lips.

I will be adding this product to my everyday make-up back and using it whenever I’m going for a vintage look. It’s the most authentic product I’ve managed to find and would recommend it to any vintage girls out there who want to keep their make-up as historically accurate as their clothes.

Besame sell an amazing selection of vintage inspired make-up, and now I’ve got on so well with this product I will definitely be trying more. I have my eye on their selection of lipsticks and their 1930s mascara.
