I’ve finally started watching Downton Abbey after hearing so many good things about it. I have heard the word “I can’t believe you don’t watch it” too many times! Series One and Two are both on Netflix and I’m completely hooked! I’m in awe of the stunning settin g of Highclere castle and the beautiful costumes. The story line is fantastic and plays out like a soup opera. I’m watching it at such a rate that I should be completely caught up in a few days!
I have also started watching the fab new ITV drama Mr Selfridge. Having worked as a visual merchandiser in a department store I find it particularly interesting. Seeing a job I have done in a historical context is fascinating. I loved Jeremy Piven in Entourage and he is brilliant in this. I love his arrogant charisma.
If you like both of these you should watch The Forsyte Saga which was on a few years ago and is available on Netflix. Like Downton it follows a family over several years and is great viewing.
Costume drama heaven! I’m off to snuggle up with a cup of tea and watch more!
