It's Monday, What are you Reading copy

It’s Monday which means it’s time to discuss our reading weeks. This meme is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

Last week I had a wonderful time visiting Bath, it was great to have some time to relax and just take some time to see some sights and get a massive fix of history. Bath is a magically city and it’s like being in a Georgian time capsule! I have so much to write about my trip so please check back this week, over even better follow the blog!

For any Jane Austen fans here are a couple of pictures of her old house in Bath!

This week I finished reading A Vintage Affair by Isabel Wolff, this was a lovely thought-provoking book. Like other books I have read and written about it focusses a little on the history and the people who wore vintage clothes. The book deals beautifully with the relationships between young and old. There are some very sad moments especially when the book refers back to one characters experiences during the second world war. I’d highly recommend this and will be including it in The Vintage Book Group.

This week I also started reading Before I Met You by Lisa Jewell, I’m a big fan of her books and so far this one is brilliant. This is another book which flashes between modern-day and the past and so far it is working really well. I am intrigued to see what happens and I have a feeling I’m going to get through this really quickly!

My ‘to-be-read’ pile is similar to last week except I’ve added a couple of new titles which I picked up in a charity shop in Bath…

Thank you, Bath is amazing, it’s like walking through a Jane Austen novel! Nothing is changed since she lived in the city.

There is also a Jane Austen museum in Bath but sadly it was closed for building work. It is however a great excuse to go back! 🙂
