Me Made May – Day 8

May 8, 2013

Today I wore my pink version of the 1960 Butterick dress. I’m so happy with how this dress came out and I know it’s going to be one I wear loads this summer. I made it with some fabric I bought on Ebay and trimmed it with pale pink bias binding.

My favourite pattern, next time I’d like to try the version with the cut out neckline.

Today I also bought some vintage pillowcases from a charity shop which I’m hoping to use to make some tops. They’re currently in the wash so I’ll add some pics tomorrow.

This dress looks really beautiful, I am impressed by the fact that you can make something like that your self! Well done!

    Kind regards

Thank you so much. I completely taught myself to sew and have made lots of mistakes along the way! It’s nice to hear that people like what I’ve made 🙂

I am loving the pattern and colours and the netting underneath looks great 😀

I’m making this dress in sewing and I wanted to put a tulle under layer like you have. How did you do it?

I stitched in a petticoat which I bought on eBay. Have a look on there, however it would be pretty easy to make your own and stitch it in.

Ok, thanks. If I were to make y own, how would I do that? Would I just cut out the tulle out following the skirt pattern pieces? Any suggestions? Thanks
