Pretty Kids Canvas Paintings

September 4, 2013

I just wanted to share this idea I had for displaying some of the girls artwork. I wanted something that would look pretty and go with my pastel colour scheme that they had made. I got a few value canvasses from Hobby Craft and some acrylic paints in colours that I liked, and let them do whatever they wanted.

They had so much fun doing their paintings and I chose my favourites and mounted them on the wall. They go perfectly with my kitchen and the girls love looking at their little art gallery so it was an all round success.

Having a 5 year age gap means it is sometimes tricky to find activities to entertain a 7 and a 2 year old but this was something fun they enjoyed doing together, so I would definitely recommend getting a few canvasses for rainy days.

We used canvasses from Hobby Craft £1.50 each Paints from Hobby Craft

My kitchen is full of pinks and blues so I chose the girls paints to match.

tada!

Do have little ones and if so do you have any crafty ideas, I’d love to hear about them in the comments xxx

What a great idea! I have a 5, 2, and 1 year old and may have to do this with the older two. I love displaying kids artwork. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your comment, you should totally try it. You can always do hand prints with the one year old as a little keepsake too!

Looks good Mom! I used to take large black, mat frames meant for framing prints and put Clarke’s water colors on display in them. The help of a plate holder underneath kept them upright. Love kid art.

These are so very darling – and more permanent than a picture drawn on paper and held to the fridge with a magnet. I adore the fact that you display your kids art on the wall – far more parents should follow suite.

Thanks! It’s amazing how much they like seeing it up on the wall too. They are very proud!
