Two New 1950s Dresses.

October 15, 2013

As I mentioned in Sundays blog post, this weekend we went to the fabulous Classic Car Boot Sale. I managed to pick up two new (to me) 1950s dresses, which makes me very happy. I had been on the lookout for something floral and something with a typical mid-century style print and the vintage gods were obviously looking down on me as I found exactly what I’d been looking for.

The first dress is this beautiful purple floral one which was a steal at only £30!

The second dress was this gorgeous cream dress with a mustard and grey print. The dress is full of lovely details including the cutest pockets ever. I cannot wait to wear it! This one cost £40.

My next mission is to find some accessories to go with them. I’d like a purple and a mustard cardigan to wear with them, and possibly some jewellery. Look out for an OOTD with these soon.

Have any of you got any nice dresses recently?

Beautiful dresses both – I love the vibrancy of their colours and the fabulous mid-century floral/leaf patterns. Stellar scores!!!

Fabulous finds indeed! Can’t wait to see pics of you in them.

Love the mini-makeover on your blog too, looking good.

Can’t wait for the next book on the Vintage Book Club – what’s it going to be??

those prints are really fabulous. I love the yoke detailing on both dresses.
Lucky enough to find 1 perfect vintage dress, but 2? That’s pure heaven.

I know! I was thrilled to get both. The detailing is amazing they don’t construct clothes like they used too!

Such lovely dresses! I specially like the yellow leaved dress, I think it’s really flattering even for a modern everyday outfit.

Love the dresses, I saw the yellow one, but it was far too small so I am glad it went to someone who will love it. Can’t wait to see the OOTD pictures!

Thank you, apparently people had been looking at it all day. I always find it hard to get vintage thats the right size, so I was delighted with this.

I was browsing through some of your old posts and found this one. That first dress is AMAZING. So pretty, so beautiful. That’s the kind of dress I dream about at night.
