I have always wanted to try cold cream, the skin care of choice for our foremothers. Many a glamorous older lady has put their youthful looks down to cold cream and water and I have finally given this wonder product a try. Cold cream was invented hundreds of years ago in various formations and is definitely a beauty favourite that has stood the test of time. The brand name that instantly springs to mind is Pond’s. So many of my vintage magazines feature adverts for Pond’s Cold Cream and it even gets a few mentions on my favourite show Mad Men. Pond’s is still available in the shops, however the modern packaging and modern price tag put me off a bit so in the end I opted for Boots Traditional Cold Cream and whilst I was there I also picked up some Glycerin and Rosewater to use as a toner afterwards. I’ve been using both products for a couple of weeks now, and I’m actually really happy with them.
