Summer Party Drinks Table

June 8, 2014

Here’s a little Sunday morning bonus post from me. Yesterday we had a lovely little garden party for my daughter Jessica, it was a lovely day filled with sunshine, smiles and family. We’ve been working really hard to get our enormous out of control garden a little more ready for the sunny season. It’s really starting to come together now and we’ve added lot’s of amazing thrifty finds which I will be showing you in a post next week.

For the party I wanted lot’s of little homemade decorations and little personal touches. I was feeling really inspired by old-fashioned traditional village fetes so made a huge length of pretty mini bunting with lot’s of fabric from my stash and served pink lemonade and ginger beer in jugs. I love using jam jars for drinks and decorated mine with pretty tape to make them look a little more pretty.

I had a little spread of food and a drinks table and thought I’d share a few pictures to give you a little garden party inspiration…

I decorated a selection of jam jars using some pretty decorative gingham tape which I picked up at Tiger

We had lot’s of pretty paper straws which we bought from Tiger, these were held in a jam jar decorated with a vintage button and butchers twine from Hobbycraft.

I made a little sign for the drinks table using my painted chalkboard frame.

Drinks table.

I used some of my vintage table cloths and served the food on mis-matched vintage plates.

I made lot’s of bunting using new and vintage fabrics.

I plan to do lot’s of entertaining this summer, as there’s nothing better than filling your time with your favourite people. I’m really looking forward to trying out some other party ideas.
