January 2015 Birchbox Review 1

Birchbox January 2015 Womens Health Contents

Earlier this month I received my latest delivery from Birchbox. The January box is a collaboration with Women’s Health magazine and is the perfect box for those new years healthy living resolutions. For those new to Birchbox, it’s a monthly subscription beauty box and every delivery you receive a selection of high-end beauty treats to try as well as little bonus gifts. This box was the best I’ve received so far as the products are all fantastic and fit really well with the theme.

Birchbox January 2015 Stila Lip Glaze

First up in the box was a lovely Stila Lip Glaze. This is a lovely almost clear gloss with tiny glitter flecks for a perfect glowing pout. The colour is perfect for all skin tones. I loved the packaging and being able to see the product inside. The gloss applies really easily and looks lovely and natural. It’s perfect for every day wear as it’s very subtle. I’m going to be using this one a lot and will definitely be trying in over lipstick for a glossy look. These normally cost £15 each.

Birch box January 2015 Philip Kingsley Conditioner

Next was a Philip Kingsley Body Building Conditioner. I don’t normally go for volumising hair products as I already have really thick hair. I still really enjoyed the product which smalls lovely and really conditioned my hair. I’ve tried quite a few Philip Kingsley products through Birchbox and have always been really impressed. the full-sized product costs £19

Birchbox January 2015 Ren Glycolactic Mask

I then tried the Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask. I’m a big fan of acid based exfoliators and have tried quite a few. This one is designed for weekly use and not only does it smell really nice it also left my skin feeling clean refreshed and super smooth. I left it on for 10 minutes and removed with a muslin cloth. The full-sized product costs £30.

Birchbox January 2015 Healgel

The fourth product in the box was HealGel Intensive. A lovely lotion containing organic silicone and arnica. this feels absolutely lovely on the skin and leaves a smooth glossy feeling. It soaks in immediately and was really soothing. Perfect for a body that’s worked hard in the gym and needs a little tlc. The full priced product costs £37.50.

Birch box January 2015 Active Bob

The last cosmetic product in the box was activbod Cooling Finish Lotion. Another product that’s perfect for a hard-worked body, this cooling gel is perfect for soothing aching muscles. After application it begins to cool and tingle and it feels really invigorating. This will definitely be popped into the gym bag if I ever actually make it back to the gym! the full-sized product costs £12.

Birchbox January 2015 Embrace Matcha Green Tea

Birchbox January 2015 Green Tea

And if you’re caring for the outside, don’t forget to look after the inside. The next product in the box was Embrace Matcha Green Tea. If you can get past the way this one looks then I’m sure it’s worth drinking. It actually has very little taste considering it’s similarity to algae infested water. This does have 10 times the antioxidants of normal green tea so if you’re looking for inner well-being then this might just be for you. A full priced pack costs £24.99.

Birchbox January 2015 Womens Health Pilates Band

Lastly I received a Birchbox Pilates band, to increase strength and improve muscle insurance. I have to be honest here and confess that I’ve not actually used it yet. but I am planning on looking up some workouts to try it with as I’m intrigued.

That Stilla lip gloss looks so pretty. My first thought when I saw it was, wow, I think that’s a shade that would be just about universally flatting. My second was how immensely perfect it is for spring and the pastel/soft palette of the next season coming around the bend.

Lovely box this month – it’s always fun to see the goodies you receive and share with us here.

Aw thank you, it’s one of my favourites. I found it in a charity shop a few years ago. Xxx

I really should sign up to one of these so we can go through products together. Soon! I have had a stila gloss before and they are lovely but I found they never stay in place – what did you think?
I have a couple of REN products but not this one so I look forward to seeing what you think x
