Bluebells in the Woods at Hatchlands Park

This year has been so busy for us and we’ve hardly had a chance to have many days out as a family. When we do all manage to be in the same place at once, we love to visit out favourite National Trust Properties. A couple of weeks ago we headed out with the intention of visiting Clandon Park in Surrey. Sadly the property was closed for a wedding, so instead we visited Hatchlands Park, which is one of our favourite and only 5 minutes drive from Clandon. We didn’t mind at all and planned to return to Clandon soon. Tragically Clandon Park was hit by a terrible fire just a few days later and was severely damaged. It’s just so sad to think of all the history that is no longer with us. It also reminds me that if there are places you love or long to see, make the time to go as they might be gone before you can.

On a happier note, we had a lovely time at Hatchlands. the house was closed but there is plenty of outdoor space to explore, including fields filled with cows and beautiful views across the Surrey. There is also a fantastic natural play area which my kids love and the highlight of our visit – the beautiful bluebell walk. I thought I’d share a few pictures of our day…
