Vintage Intentions for the New Year

January 1, 2016

I can’t quite believe the new year is here! Having not really done anything to celebrate the beginning of a new year, last night kind of passed me by. I haven’t really thought about any resolutions either. 2015 was a pretty good year for me and my only plans are to keep working hard, spending time with my family and enjoying life. The only thing I’d like to do is wear even more vintage and record more of my outfits here on the blog. It’s one of my favourite parts of blogging and Rob and I always have fun finding nice locations and taking pictures together.

Home Made Dress OOTDTodays outfit photos weren’t really planned. I got dressed and went to the park with my camera and decided to get a few snaps of what I was wearing. I have shared this dress on the blog before about 18 months ago and I have only worn it a couple of times since.

Home Made Vintage Style DressThe dress is one that I made myself from an old vintage sheet which I picked up for 50p at a car boot sale. I used to make my own clothes so much more and I really don’t know where I found the time! I don’t think I completed many garments at all last year and it’s definitely something I’d like to start doing again this year. I collected heaps of vintage fabric and I definitely want to turn it all into stuff I can wear.

Enid Collins Autumn Leaves BagIt may be winter, but todays accessories are still paying homage to the beautiful colours of autumn. I totally forgot that I had my autumn themed hair flower until last week, when I found it at the bottom of my jewellery box and I really wanted to give it a wear. I teamed it up with some coordinating plastic bangles and my vintage Enid Collins Autumn Leaves handbag. I wore it with some comfy modern ankle boots which were perfect for  a rainy day in the park.

Charming outfit! Epic autumn lover that I am, that might honestly be my favourite Enid Collins handbag ever. I’d absolutely love to add one to my own wardrobe some day, if possible.

Huge hugs & joyful New Year’s wishes!

Happy New Year Catherine – love that bag! I never did get to wear lots of Autumn stuff in 2015 as it was too wet, when the outfits called for crisp sunny days. Ah well. xx
