Blogmas Day 4 – Birthdays, Balls and Besties

December 4, 2016

I’m sitting at home in my pyjamas, having had an absolutely wonderful weekend with some of my favourite people. Rob and I travelled up to Northampton on Friday for our first weekend away together for absolutely ages. We had travelled up to attend a Back to the Future themed ball, organised by my lovely friends from Most Marvellous Meet-ups. Yesterday was my birthday and it was really great that I had a special event to go to on the day.

We got up early on Saturday morning to shoot some pictures for the Lindy Bop dress review that I posted yesterday. We found so many pretty locations to take pictures, Northampton has some gorgeous buildings and it was really fun having a little wander, looking for good spots to take pictures. I feel really lucky that Rob always helps me out with photo shoots and we always have a laugh taking them. One day I might show you some of the funny ones that never make it onto the blog!

lindy-bop-dressAfter taking our photos we relaxed in the hotel for the rest of the day. It gave us a chance for a much needed rest and I did some writing and photo editing. It was then time to get ready for the ball. I wore a dress I bought a while ago from ChiChi Clothing. I usually like to wear original vintage to events, but I loved this dress so much and it definitely deserved an outing! I paired it with a pair of shoes from Hotter and an original vintage necklace and Enid Collins bag.

The organisers had re-created the Enchantment Under the Sea dance from the Back to the Future film and the whole place looked amazing. We were treated to lots of live music and a fantastic sit down meal at the Deco, a venue in Northampton.

I got a birthday balloon a cup cake with a candle and a lovely little gift. I also won a prize in the raffle and I’ll be choosing a girdle from Girl on the Run as my prize. Which should I choose?!
