I Went to Home Bargains for the First Time and this is What I Bought!

February 10, 2018

As I’ve mentioned a couple of times, I’ve been decorating and reorganising Lila’s room over the last couple of weeks. I’ve done the room in an ice cream theme. I’ve been planning the them via Pinterest for absolutely ages and it’s been so much fun finally getting it done. One the last year I’ve picked up ice creamed themed things when ever I’ve seen them. So this week I spotted a few people picking up ice cream things from Home Bargains, so I had to check to out for myself.

We don’t have a home bargains shop that near me, so my mum and I had a little outing and drove to the nearest one, which is about half an hour away. I’ve never been before, but I’ve seen so many nice things from Home Bargains on other blogs. I’m really excited to do my first Home Bargains haul! So this is what I bought…

For Lila’s room I got these three squishy ice cream cushions. They’re really soft and cuddly and I know she’ll enjoy having them on her bed. I don’t want to be at all subtle with the theme, so these definitely fit the bill! These were £3.99 each. I’ve seen on Instagram that they also do donut cushions, but they didn’t have any in the store I visited.

Home Bargains Ice Cream Cups | Home Bargains HaulI got three of these cute ice cream cups. I thought they would look nice on her shelves and she can play with them in her toy kitchen. Mostly I just got them because I really like them and they are definitely on theme! These cost £1.49 each.

The little mug is going to stay in Lila’s room, she can use it as a pen pot. It goes really well with her sprinkle wall, which I will show you soon. The little bottles are made of glass, so I’ll keep them downstairs for the girls to use for milkshakes. The mug cost 99p and the bottles were 79p each.

I love these battery operated ice cream lights. I got two, because they are so perfect for the theme and I’ll eventually use them both in different parts of the room. Lila absolutely loves these and so do I! These were £2.99 each.

For Jessica’s room I got this cute little unicorn plaque. If you saw my post about her room makeover, you’ll know that she has a wall covered in plaques. It’s grown a bit since I shared that post, I’ll have to do an updated one soon. This cost £1.49

I got a few cute and kitsch things for myself. I totally blame my mum for encouraging me! I got this adorable sea shell handbag and a mermaid notebook. Both of these are going to get used a lot. I like the idea of wearing the bag with some of my beach themed dresses in the summer. The bag cost £5.99 and the notebook was £1.49.

Not content with one novelty bag I also picked up this donut bag. She needs to dress like a grown up anyway?! This was also £5.99.

I got a bit excited in the baking section and could happily have bought absolutely everything, But since my baking cupboard is already more than a little full, I just stuck to things I needed. I got four packs of  cupcake boxes for 89p for a pack of three. I bake a lot of cupcakes for articles and recipe ideas, but I don’t really eat them myself, so I thought these would be useful for distributing them amongst my friends and family. I also got lots of cupcake and muffin cases as I always need them. These cost between 79p and £1.19.

I love getting craft things to do with the kids, especially at Easter. I already have a lot of Easter craft supplies from the last couple of years, but got a couple more bits to top them up. First up was this Easter craft box which cost £3.99

I also got these two packs of flower stickers and a pack of lambs, I think we’ll use these to make some little Easter scenes. The flowers were 79p per pack and the lambs were 99p.

Lastly I picked up two wooly hats for Jess. She has to wear cream or brown ones for school, so it’s always handy when I spot some in the right colour. These were £2.49 and £2.99.

I’m really happy with my haul and I had lots of fun choosing things. The store I went to was quite small, so I might try to visit a bigger one and see what else they have. I also want to see if I can find those donut cushions. My total spend was £60.60 and I think I got quite a lot for my money.

Did you enjoy my Home Bargains haul? Have you been before? What was your favourite bargain? I can’t wait to share more of Lila’s room with you very soon.
