Oh I Do Like… A Seaside Print Skirt

April 5, 2018

Over the years on this blog, I’ve mentioned a few time how partial I am to a seaside print. I love novelty prints in general, but anything g beauty always catches my eye. I think it has a lot to do with how much I love the actual sea. When I was little my grandparents lived not far from the sea and had their own beach hut. As an adult I’m, never happier than on a visit to the British seaside. Last year I visited Margate for the first time as an adult and completely fell in love. It’s such a great place, with lots to do and see. When Laura Ashley released their new Margate seaside print, it was love at first sight. I just had to give something a try.

I chose this lovely skirt, which is going to get so much wear this summer. It’s the perfect dress up or down edition to my wardrobe.  I love everything about it, from the lovely cotton fabric and living to the perfect on the knee length. I love that the pattern is subtle and sketchy, while the addition of the blue and coral stripes make the skirt stand out. I’ve gone into a lot more detail about the skirt over on the Laura Ashley Blog, so take a look there for more of my thoughts on the skirt.

Since I couldn’t be at the beach I wore the dress for a day out in Kensington to visit some museums. We quickly stopped by some pretty houses to get some snaps. It’s the perfect skirt for when you want a comfortable casual outfit, but still want to wear something nice. I teamed mine up with a simple t shirt, a denim jacket and my comfy Clarks brogues. The finish the outfit and add a touch of colour I wore it with the Magenta Laura Ashley bag.

This bag is going to get a lot of use this year. I’m absolutely loving bags with bold block colours and in my opinion, pink goes with almost everything!

What are your favourite things about the British seaside? I lover the sea and paddling no matter what the temperature, I love making sandcastles and eating ice cream, I love the crumbling paint and old fashioned signs. I love the seagulls and the nostalgia. At the moment I mostly love sharing it Wirth the kids and making memories with them.

The print is so lovely! Here’s hoping that we have some gorgeous sunny weather soon, so that we can create some new seaside memories. Look out for some snaps of the skirt in margate soon! The gorgeous Margate seaside print not only comes in this gorgeous skirt, but also in a lovely top and dress. If you love the fun seaside theme, I also have my eye on the adorable harbourside t-shirt and yacht slash neck jumper.
