5 Easy Home Made Valentines and Galentines Cards DIY

As you know I love any excuse to get creative and make some pretty things. I’ve never been massively into Valentines day, but I do see it as a great time to show a little love and appreciation for people in my life. Everyone from my husband, to my best friend to my kids. I was recently sent some products from Hobbycraft to make some pretty cards, so with both Valentines and Galentines in mind, I spent a lovely afternoon making 5 simple and easy cards, that anyone could try. Here are my home made valentines and galentines cards.

You are my Best Friend Home Made Valentines and Galentines Cards

For these ones you will need : Metallic markers, stamps (these are my own and I’ve had them for years. Similar here), blank cards, gem stickers.

Rather than using a stamp pad I used a metallic marker to colour in my stamp for a really pretty finish.

I used the alphabet stamps to spell out my message.

I then used a heart cookie cutter to mark out my heart shape. You could literally use anything in the right shape to mark out your design.

I spaced them just far enough apart for the gem stickers.

I then added the jewel stickers to make my heart shape. This card was so quick to make and I absolutely love how it came out. this would also look great on different coloured cards.

Tree of Love Home Made Valentines and Galentines Cards

I used: Paint palette (this is my own one. Similar here), paint brush, blank cards, heart buttons, PVA glue.

I painted a simple tree design onto the card, be sure to add plenty of branches.

I then used the PVA glue to stick the hearts onto the ends of the branches like leaves.

Keep going until the whole tree is covered. I absolutely love the finished design, definitely one I want to make again.

You Make Me Happy Home Made Valentines and Galentines Cards

You will need: Large heart buttons, blank cards, PVA glue, self adhesive scrabble letters.

Simply stick the letters onto the card to spell out your chosen message and stick the hearty button with some glue to finish. This looks so cute, but was ridiculously quick and easy to put together.

Lots of Love Hearts Home Made Valentines and Galentines Cards

You will need: Heart punch, blank cards, watercolour paper, PVA glue, alphabet stamps.

I used the heart punch to cut out lots of little watercolour hearts from the paper.

Then I marked out a grid pattern on the paper with small evenly spaced dots to form a square.

I folded each little heart and added a small dab of glue to the back.

Then I stuck down a heart over each dot on the grid.

I used the alphabet stamps to add a message to the card.

Watercolour Hearts Home Made Valentines and Galentines Cards

You will need: Water colour paper, blank cards, scissors, glue and alphabet stamps.

I started by cutting a rectangle of patterned paper and stuck it to one side of the card.

I cut some hearts out of watercolour paper.

Then I stuck them in a line at the edge of the paper.

You can then stamp a message onto the corner of the card. I kept it simple and just used the word Love.

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at the cards and they’ve inspired you to try something similar yourself. I love crafts that aren’t too taxing and that anyone can try. I mostly make things to relax and have a bit of me time, so this was a perfect one for doing something for myself and sharing the love at the same time.
