My Everyday Autumn Outfits

October 29, 2019

I love sharing my everyday outfits over on my Instagram. Unless I’m putting together a blog post for a specific product or a review, all my outfit pics are taken on normal days when I’m out and about. I usually get whoever I’m with to get a couple of snaps on my phone. I always find this time of year a little tricky when it comes to clothes. Over the last month we’ve had everything from warm sunny days to freezing cold wind and rain. Autumn in England is a sartorial minefield! I thought it would be fun to put together a post featuring some of my favourite everyday outfits from the last few weeks.

There’s a big mix of vintage, old pieces from my wardrobe that come out every year and a few new bits too.

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsHere I’m wearing two of my very favourite vintage pieces. I wear this yellow vintage 1970s dress a lot. I bought it a few years back at a car boot sale for just £1 and despite needing a few repairs along the way, it’s served me well for many years. I’ve teamed it up with my very favourite gold belt which was a charity shop find that gets worn A LOT!

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsI finished the outfit with my trusty denim jacket and my Doctor Martens boots. I literally wear this jacket and boots with everything. The boots are perfect for walking and are super comfy and my denim jacket is the perfect extra layer for transitional weather.

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsI’m really enjoying wearing my 1970s themed pieces at the moment. This dress is actually a 90s dress, which I recently found on Depop, but it’s got such a fabulous 70s feel to it.

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsI wore the dress with a comfy pair of Vans trainers, for a coffee with friends and a little walk by the river. There is so much fabric in the skirt, it’s takes forever to iron!

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsI wore this lovely orange 60s dress for a very muddy and windy trip to the pumpkin patch. The colours are absolutely perfect for this time of year. Unfortunately I managed to rip one of the sleeves the first time I wore it, so it’s currently in my repair pile – oh the hazards of wearing vintage!

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsThis outfit was captured on a fun trip to the park with Rob and the kids. My dress is New Look from a couple of years ago and my coat is a very warm Primark sale bargain, which I picked up for a tenner a couple of years ago. It’s my go-to chilly school run coat and I absolutely love the colour.

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsAn outfit from a another pumpkin patch trip. I found this H&M Conscious dress in a charity shop earlier this year, with it’s tags still on. It cost me about £3.50 and is the perfect warm dress for colder weather. I’ve worn it with my boots and jacket and a Cath Kidston handbag which was a gift from my mum.

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsThis fabulous original 1970s dress was found on one of my only car boot sale trips of the summer and cost me £1.50. It fits like a dream and I’m so glad I found it. It’s really warm, so it will definitely see me through the winter too. I accessorised it with a leopard print headscarf that I’ve had for many years.

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsThe denim jacket obviously made another appearance with this outfit, which I wore to a pumpkin festival this week. (I really like pumpkins OK!) I think I need to find a denim jacket in another colour, just so I can mix it up a bit!

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsI found this pretty floral dress in the Primark sale a couple of weeks ago, it’s definitely one you could dress up or down. so far I’ve just worn it pretty casually with either boots or trainers.

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsThis is my new favourite dress! I saw it in Marks and Spencer right at the beginning of the summer and couldn’t stop thinking about it for months! A few weeks ago my mum got it for me in the sale at half price and I’ve worn it so many times since. I’m looking forward to styling it lots of different ways throughout the year. I wore it for a rare sunny Sunday last weekend.

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsWhen I was in Bath a few weeks ago with my mum, we popped into Primark and I fell in love with this co-ord. It’s not something I would normally wear, but it’s very soft and comfy and I definitely plan to mix and match the jacket and trousers with other pieces from my wardrobe – Watch this space!

My Everyday Autumn Outfits | Vintage FrillsAlthough I’m a big dress wearer, I do occasionally throw on a pair of jeans. this is one of my casual half term outfits that I wore for a day out. I jazzed up my simple jeans and t shirt with this fringed kimono, which I got in Primark about 5 years ago.

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at some of the things I’ve been wearing. I’m a big believer in having fun with fashion, trying to be as sustainable and thrifty as I can, by buying second hand, wearing things I already own and choosing pieces from the high street that will see me through many years. You can find more outfit ideas in the Outfits section of the blog.

I am a charity shop addict and spend hours looking for bargains! I love your 1970s yellow dress – an amazing find at a car boot sale for £1. I regularly post on my finds.
Now that it is getting colder I am wearing trousers more than skirts/dresses – and my daughter persuaded me to start wearing jeans earlier this year – something I would never happen!!
