Home – Setting the Table For Autumn

October 20, 2020

AD. This post features flowers that were given to me as a PR sample by Arena Flowers.

I absolutely adore this time of year and Autumn is definitely one of my favourite seasons to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors. However I also like to take the outdoors in and make my home feel a bit autumnal too. I have quite a lot of cute tableware that really comes into it’s own when the leaves start falling and I love to make my table look gorgeous. So last week I got creative and gave my table a little makeover.

I chose this stunning Autumn inspired bouquet from ethical flower company Arena Flowers.

Arena flowers work directly with fair trade farms and try to reduce their environmental impact wherever possible. They are ranked as the UKs most ethical florist on the Ethical Company Index, making them a great choice for anyone who cares about people and planet. They’ve removed single use plastic from all their packaging and use organic and compostable materials, which I think is just brilliant. They also plant a tree in a deforested area for every bouquet purchased. And to top it all off their beautiful bouquets are absolutely incredible too!

I had planned to turn it into a dress at some point, but quite like the shades of brown and cream for a fall themed tablecloth. The other original vintage addition was some of my vintage plates. I have a huge collection of mix and match vintage plates in various colours, but I especially love using these two at this time of year, because of their lovely colours. I tied my napkins with some green string, but ribbon or vintage lace also make great DIY napkin rings too.

I’d use this set up for a little tea party. Eventually I’d love some seasonal dinner plates and cutlery for meals, but I’m waiting until I find just the right vintage additions to finish my collection.

This gorgeous collection of blooms is inspired by the fabulous colours of Autumn and includes chrysanthemums, orange carthamus, cherry brandy roses and huge sunflowers with deep purple cotinus and red hypericum berries. The colours are just fabulous and I loved all the different textures. The bouquet also smelt beautiful and really brightened up the house.

They arrived on a Monday and I actually took these pictures of my table on the following Friday, so they were already 5 days old and looking absolutely fantastic. A week after arriving they still look great and as they start too fade I usually just pick out everything that still looks good to make a smaller arrangement and make the most of all the pretty blooms.

Home - Setting the Table For Autumn | Creating an autumn table setting with ethical flowers from Arena FlowersArena have a large selection of hand-tied and luxury bouquets at various price points and in a huge selection fo styles and colours. They also offer letter box flowers, which I’m always a big fan of when sending people gifts. Their subscription service offers beautiful flowers delivered weekly, fortnightly or monthly according to your needs and budget. If you’re thinking of opening a flower subscription, I love that this is such an ethical choice.

  • Find accessories and tableware on the high street to match your aesthetic
  • Add fairy lights and candles for a cosy Autumn feel
  • Finish the look with a fabulous floral centrepiece inspired by the season
