Staying at Home in Hotter Slippers

March 16, 2021

*This post is part of a paid partnership with Hotter Shoes. Life has changed so much for all of us over the last year in so many ways, one of those is just how much time we’ve been spending at home. We’ve had to adapt in so many ways and returning to normality at some point will be a little weird. When I was sent the Hotter Honey Slippers to try a few weeks ago, they were actually the perfect addition to my wardrobe and life. I’ve only been leaving the house for walks and essential errands, so all my outfits and activities have been indoors. Having comfy and very pretty slippers has been really comforting and I’ve worn them for literally everything.

Today I thought I’d talk about my lovely Hotter slippers and some of the things I’ve been doing while staying at home. Really there’s been nothing exciting, just getting on with everyday life with the whole family at home, but despite having pretty much nothing to do, I’ve actually been really busy!

Working – This year I’ve put a lot of time into my vintage selling business, I wrote a bit more about everything I do in this post. So most days I’ve just thrown on something comfy and got on with it. Some days I put on one of my comfy dresses, or more often than not leggings and jeans and of course my lovely slippers. My house is really drafty and can be very cold, especially the floors so the faux fur lined slippers have kept my feet feeling really cosy.

I spend lots of my time doing little jobs like repairing vintage clothes and writing descriptions for the things I sell, this takes absolutely ages, so when I’m at home getting stuff done I love to wear cosy and comfy clothes. I love that these slippers are a bit more attractive than most and don’t look out of place with my favourite dresses. It’s nice to wear nice things even if they are practical and I’m wearing no make up and have my hair in a messy bun. I feel a bit more glam even with no effort!

Parenting – This has certainly been a challenging year to be a parent. Whether it be home schooling, providing the kids with endless snacks, trying to think of things for them to do, because lets face it they have got seriously bored away from their normal lives, its been busy!

Housework – Having four people at home all day, has certainly generated a lot of housework, laundry and cooking. I have spent a lot of time on my feet running around the house, my Fitbit will testify to this! Luckily my slippers are perfect for mums who can’t find five minutes to stop and they’ve got me through a lot of steps.

Self care – On those quiet moments where everyone has been busy, occupied or asleep, I’ve tried to prioritise a bit of time for myself and done a few things that make me feel good. Having a nice cup of herbal tea, a few of my favourite chocs and reading my favourite books has been a great way to wind down. To get cosy I’ve been having a nice bath, then wrapping myself up in my favourite vintage cardigans, putting on my slippers and getting cozy under a blanket for a little me time.

Bedtime – To be honest one of my favourite times of day at the moment is bedtime. It’s been great getting to my favourite PJs, watching a bit of TV with Rob and settling down for the night, especially while it’s been cold outside. With very little to do outside the house, making everything extra special including bedtime is a great way to self care.

The Hotter Honey slippers are super soft and cosy and perfect for wearing around the house. They are lined with snuggly faux fur and feel amazing to wear. I love the gold colour which goes with everything, although they also come in a selection of other colours and to be honest I wouldn’t mind investing in the pink pair too!

They stay on really well despite being a slip on style as there is so much fur, they hug your feet and feel really comfortable. The fur is so soft and snug and feels lovely to wear. They also have a grippy rubber sole, which not only supports your feet but stop you slipping, which is great with our vinyl floors.

I’d definitely recommend these to anyone who spends a lot of time at home, or loves to wear pretty slippers around the house. I’ve had loads of shoes from Hotter and they all last really well, I’m yet to wear a pair out and some of them I’ve had for years. I’m always really impressed with the lovely quality.

Fine the Hotter Honey Slippers on the Hotter website. They are also currently on sale!
