Vintage Inspiration – Retro Pink and Purple Floral Prints

February 9, 2026

One of the things I like most about my job as a vintage dealer, is never knowing what you’re going to find. I source vintage in lots of different ways, but I always try to find pieces as locally to home as possible. I don’t know if it’s the law of attraction or many years of experience, but I always manage to find stunning vintage pieces that I truly love! I am always absolutely delighted by gorgeous vibrant and colourful vintage prints, especially florals. The bright colours and funky designs always put a smile on my face. Today I thought I’d share some recent additions to the shop, in the very best colours and prints.

For the best colours you just can’t go wrong with the 60s and 70s! The colour palettes are just amazing. I love mixing interesting prints with complimentary block coloured pieces, although I also love a bit of clashy pattern mixing. With vintage anything goes! Mix those colours prints and eras to your hearts content, because fashion is meant to be fun.

The Dresses

This first dress is a stunning 1960s pink and green floral maxi dress, I bought several dresses that were all handmade by the same lady and they all have the most fabulous little details, like this little back panel with handmade frog fastenings and little hints of chinese inspiration. Size 10-12

Next up is this amazing pink and purple floral nightgown with cutout waist detail by St Michael. This is almost too good to save for bedtime and I would absolutely wear this as a gorgeous summer dress. Size 14

Another really interesting 60s piece, This lovely purple and pink retro floral mini dress, has had some repairs and alterations over the years. I believe this may have once been longer and then adapted into the cute mini dress you see now. I love the off centre metal buttons and high neckline. Size 10-12

Another gorgeous dress which I was delighted to source this year is this fabulous purple and orange paisley print retro maxi dress labelled Dandi by Berkertex. This one has a gorgeous heavy weave fabric and lovely matching covered buttons. I’ve included a pic of the label, because us vintage fashion geeks love a good label! UK Size 12

This is another nightwear item that I would totally just wear as a dress! This beautiful vintage housedress or robe from St Michael has an absolutely stunning floral print in gorgeous vibrant colours. Size 10-12

You can never go wrong with vintage 1960s shift dresses, these classic designs really stand the test of time. I absolutely adore the pink and purple tones against the blue background in this gorgeous floral print 1960s shift dress. Size 12-14.

Another super fun print that is so vibrant and eye-catching is this fabulous zip front 60s dress. How gorgeous is the pop of bright yellow against the purple background! Size 12

This gorgeous 1960s retro floral shift dress has the most fabulous pops of colour, I love how much the vibrant pink stands out. Such a lovely fun dress.

This fabulous 1950s dress, has a gorgeous abstract leaf print in glorious shades of pink and purple. She has a lovely full skirt and flattering fitted bodice. For cooler weather this would look great with a pretty vintage cardigan. Size 6.

No collection would be complete without my favourite vintage brand – Laura Ashley! This pretty berry print Laura Ashley dress, comes in one of my favourite Laura prints, which I’ve had in several other colour ways.

Onto more muted shades of pink, this lovely vintage 1970s tiered midi dress has 3 different floral fabrics in shades of pink and blue and would be absolutely perfect for spring and summer. I absolutely love a full tiered skirt. Size 10.

Another lovely tired vintage midi dress, this time in lovely pastels tones on a black background. I really love this print! Size 8-10

The Matching Sets

This year I found some really great twinsets and suits. I love the mix and potential and the way can fit really well into a capsule wardrobe.

This gorgeous 70s paisley set includes a blouse and matching skirt. It’s such a versatile addition to a vintage wardrobe. The two pieces look amazing together, but could also be styled separately. The blouse would look so good under a corduroy pinafore dress or with other skirts or trousers and the skirt could be styled with different tops, blouses or knits. Size 12

I’ve gone for a very different look here with a 1970s lace ruffle poet blouse and black waistcoat.

This knitted skirt and cardigan set is absolutely adorable and could be styled for a sophisticated 60s look or styled for a more cure Legally Blonde or Barbie inspired look. SOLD

The Seperates

I always mention how much I like versatile mix and match pieces. I’m a strong advocate that a capsule wardrobe doesn’t have to be boring and pattern matching is not a crime! So I always like to pick out fun vibrant separates that can be styled in creative eye catching ways.

This 70s blouse has a lovely floral print, but the daggar collar gives it that gorgeous retro 70s edge! Wear it with flared jeans, under dresses or just have the collar poking out from under a vintage knit. SOLD

This harlequin print wool blend midi skirt has lots of lovely dusky tones to it, making it really fun to match with other vintage pieces. Size 8

I’ve styled the two pieces together here, so show how well pattern matching can work. The gold belt adds a little separation between the two prints and the fun coral coloured necklace adds a little fun to the outfit.

I really love the colours of this lovely colourful check 1960s St Michael blouse. It’s such a lovely vibrant piece and it also has two patch pockets which are a great extra detail.

Tjis fabulous hand made top, was one of my favourite vintage find of the summer. SOLD.

The Accessories

I love the versatility of gorgeous vintage scarves and I always have plenty available on the shop to mix and match with your vintage outfits. Whether you wear them round your neck, in your hair or just on your hand bag, scarves add a little extra finish and polish to an outfit.

I am always on the hunt for vintage Jacqmar scarves, they are one of my favourite heritage scarf brands. This pretty little floral scarf has a beautiful print and lovely bold dusky pink border. SOLD

This fabulous retro long scarf picks out loads of gorgeous retro colours and has a fantastic retro floral, polkadot and striped print.

The Jewellery

You will always find lots of stunning vintage jewellery on my Etsy. I especially love to source feminine floral jewellery and particularly early plastics, bone china and enamel pieces. I pick jewellery that goes well my fashion collections and I love affordable fun pieces that bring joy to the wearer.

This fabulous 4 strand white and gold plastic beaded necklace, has a fabulous gold box clasp with a very pretty rose design. A real statement piece.

Lovely romantic pieces in shades of pink and lilac.
