Friday Vintage Link Love

December 13, 2013

For those of you staying in on Friday night like me, here’s a little vintage inspiration I found on the internet this week…

1. 10 Vintage Styles That Really Need to Come Back – Huffington Post

Those of you who long for the class and elegance of times gone by will totally agree with these fashions from the past that are due a revival.

2. Fear Not The Poodle Skirt – Chronically Vintage

I’ve always seen the poodle skirt as very costumy and it’s something that has put me off adding one to my wardrobe, I love this post in which Jessica explores the poodle skirt and wears it in an authentically vintage way. It’s definitely made me want one!

3. 1950s Fashions in Paris – Real Vintage Fashion Footage

I love this video on Youtube, which is pure coat heaven, if your looking for inspiration before buying a vintage appropriate coat this is a must watch.

4. 1930s Beauty Salon

Another video I spotted this week and loved was this view inside a 1930s beauty salon. It’s like going in a little time machine. I’m always totally fascinated by the beauty routine of our foremothers and the time and effort they put into their appearances. Going to the beauty salon was far more of a routine and ritual than it is today. I’d love to have a weekly set and a gossip while sitting under the dryers!

I hope these four things have given you a bit of vintage inspiration. Have a lovely weekend everyone. I’m off to The Mid Century Christmas Market tomorrow morning so I might see some of you there. xxx

Love this great roundup post! Thank you very much for including my piece on poodle skirts in it. I’m thoroughly touched! Off to read (and watch) all the other links right now.

    Have a beautiful weekend!

Sad I couldn’t make it to the Christmas Market with you. I have to say I love going to the hairdressers although mine isn’t quite as vintage! x
