One of my favourite vintage events of last year, was the utterly fabulous Classic Car Boot Sale which was held on london’s South Bank. The basic idea of the event is that it features a wide selection of sellers selling vintage clothing, collectibles and homewares from the back of beautiful classic cars. There’s also an amazing selection of vintage car items, records and street food. The event was just perfect for retro car lovers and vintage enthusiasts alike.
I managed to get my hands on two beautiful 1950s dress for under £40 each and had a great day out to boot. There was a fantastic bar in the form of a double-decker route master bus with a live band entertaining us from the roof. The setting of London’s South Bank made the perfect venue for this great event.
I was delighted to hear that the Classic Car Boot Sale will be returning to London this March for not one but two days of vintage fabulousness! If you missed it the first time or can’t wait to do all over again it is being held on 15th to 16th March. So pop it in your diaries and head on down.
I’d recommend this event to anyone with a love of the past, whether you’re looking to buy some vintage for your wardrobe or home or if you like retro cars or even if you just fancy a great day out in London. The choice of food is fantastic and ranges from burgers to Italian to Caribbean.
I went along with my husband and Lila and both were kept entertained all day, so it’s definitely not just for die-hard vintage fans. The atmosphere is fantastic and once you’ve had a few hours there I would definitely recommend exploring the rest of the South Bank.
Here’s a little video of my photos from the last Classic Car Boot Sale, I’m hoping to do a proper vlog at the next one!

February 18, 2014 at 11:24 pmSo exciting!!! I wonder who I’d have to bribe with copious amounts of Canadian maple syrup and poutine to get them to cross the Atlantic and hold a similar sale here in this corner of the Commonwealth? 😀
Congrats on your two great 50s dress finds!
