Collectif is one of my favourite places to go for cute vintage style clothing, so I was delighted to hear they were opening a brand new shop in lovely Brighton. I’ll take any excuse for a trip down to my favourite seaside town and any excuse to go shopping for that matter.
So Fay and I jumped in the car, stocked up on Starbucks, sat in traffic for an hour trying to get on the M23 and eventually made it to Brighton!
The shop is located on Bond Street, which is a great destination for independent boutiques, cafes and vintage shopping. The shop itself is really pretty with two windows showing some of the most lovely spring dresses on offer. Inside they were offering a glass of fizz and chocolate canapés as well as vintage makeovers to celebrate the launch.
I usually shop online so it was great seeing lot’s of things I’d had my eye on and get to try them on. Being on a tight spending ban at the moment I knew that I needed a couple of new tops and would have to avoid adding new dresses to my overstuffed wardrobe, but it was great to see which things I will be picking up in future online or next time I’m near a shop.
In the end I got two really cute striped t-shirts for £15 each which I plan to wear with skirts or some cropped jeans this summer. Fay invested in a couple of pairs of high-waisted trousers and some new tops.
The staff were all absolutely lovely and really helpful despite it being very busy, they made sure we always had a drink and all the sizes and advise we needed. They also all looked gorgeous decked out in their vintage style outfits, hair and make-up. I will definitely be back as I was really impressed.
I didn’t get any amazing pictures as it was so busy, but I tried to take a few. Next time you’re in Brighton be sure to pop to the shop and take a look at all the lovely things.

May 5, 2014 at 7:06 pmOh I just love Collectif, and that’s great that their new shop is in Brighton – my sister lives there so I’ll have to pop in next time I’m visiting. Like any online shopping, sizing and fit varies, so I do find it helpful to try things in on in the flesh. Was that ‘Lipstick and Curls’ doing the hair? They’re lovely ladies! What a treat, looks like you and Fay had a great trip x
