As long-term readers will know The Classic Car Boot Sale in London is one of my very favourite vintage themed events. Held on the fabulous South Bank this two day event come twice a year to London and featured loads of fabulous vintage items sold from the boots of classics cars. The bar and street food on offer are also absolutely fantastic and some of my favourite vintage dresses were picked up here.
Last Sunday of course was Mother’s Day and a trip to the South Bank with Rob and the girls was the perfect treat for me. Sadly the weather was not cooperating, so it ended up being a very quick trip round the stalls before taking shelter in Wagamama and indulging in some very yummy noodles. I did get a couple of nice things and took a few pictures before the heavens opened though!
When I go vintage shopping I usually do two circuits, once looking at all the stalls and working out what I like best and then a second time round buying the bits I’ve chosen. Although you can sometimes miss out on things if someone picks them up before I get back round, this does stop me spending all my money before I’ve seen everything. I’m also prone to impulse buying! Unfortunately due to the heavy down pour this didn’t work out well for me as I didn’t get a chance to get a couple of things I’d seen.
I did however get a gorgeous wool wiggle dress, which is the most perfect fit on me. It was only £10 as it has quite a few tiny moth holes. I hand washed it as soon as I got home and once dry I left in the freezer for 48 hours to kill off any moth eggs, so they wouldn’t spread to my other clothes. I’ve also picked up everything I need to fix all the holes so I can give this gorgeous dress a new lease of life.
I also got this lovely vintage apron which I can’t wait to wear while I’m baking some yummy vintage recipes. My vintage apron collection is getting a little out of hand now. I’m going to have to do an updated post on them all as I think the number has more than doubled since my last vintage apron post.
I just snapped these pics quickly in my room, but I think you get the idea! Behind is my wardrobe which is so full of dresses it may burst at any moment!
Did you go to The Classic Car Boot Sale this year? Did you buy anything nice?

Twice a year they have such an amazing looking sale?! I love the Southbank, I miss borough market and wandering around
