I haven’t done a home with list in absolutely ages. Being an avid interior design fan I thought it was high time I shared a little home inspiration with you. Today I have wish lists for three different rooms, all with a completely different theme and feel. There’s a little inspiration here for all tastes and I love all the beautiful items I’ve included.
Shabby Chic Bedroom: I love using light pastel colours in my bedroom as well as pretty floral prints. Set against painted white furniture the colours are both restful and cheerful. I’ve chosen the colours I used in my old bedroom before we moved up to the loft. Pink and blue look so pretty together and if you’re creating a shabby chic look these are really great colours to use. I love mixing up textures and prints within my colour scheme for that perfect vintage inspired mix and match look.
Get the look: Blue Rose Duvet Set £16.99 Yorkshire Linen Co. – Old Rose Paint £22.40 Laura Ashley – Cloud Cushion £18 Cath Kidston – Duck Egg Cushion Cover £5.99 Yorkshire Linen Co. – Blue Rose Mug £6.50 Cath Kidston – Blue Rose Curtains £22.99 Yorkshire Linen Co.
Green and White Vintage Kitchen: My own kitchen has very similar colours to the bedroom stuff I included above, however when it comes to fashion I’m totally addicted to gingham and would love to include it a little more in my home. Red gingham is an obvious choice for a kitchen, but since green is my favourite colour I thought it would be lovely for a fresh green and white kitchen look. I’ve complimented the green curtains and chair cover with simple white accessories or if you’re going for a more mid-century look the plates with their abstract leaf design might be more your cup of tea.
Get the look: Green Gingham Curtains from £9.99 Yorkshire Linen Co. – Green Gingham Seat Pad £4.99 Yorkshire Linen Co. – Chicken Storage Jar £13.20 Laura Ashley – Egg Holder £16.00 Laura Ashley – Green and White Tea Towels £8.40 Laura Ashley – Green and White Plates from £2.50 IKEA
Opulent Living Room: I’ve gone for something completely different in the living room. At nearly all the press days I’ve been to recently, metallic and copper tones have been everywhere. This autumn and winter the key home look will feature earth tones, velvet and fur and brass and copper accessories. I’ve included a photo from the Laura Ashley AW15 press day and I’ve been really inspired by the rich cosy look, which I’ve tried to recreate in my wishlist. With this look you can go for a more classic simple feel or add industrial elements to make the look a little more retro.
Get the look: Opulent Velvet Curtains from £32.99 Yorkshire Linen Co. – Opulent Velvet Cushion Cover £5.99 Yorkshire Linen Co. – Vases Lamp and Ornaments all from Next – Cluster Light £150 BHS – Record Player £100 Urban Outfitters
Which is your favourite look from the ones above?
