Me and jeans have a bit of a troubled relationship. To me my jeans are for slummy non vintage wearing days and school runs. They’re the thing I throw on in the morning when I have two kids to take to school and I’ve got up a little later than planned and don’t have time to dress up. I’ve really wanted to build up some easy to wear casual vintage outfits for lazy days and quickly thrown together outfits to bring the glamour back to mummy days.
I’ve tried a few different vintage style jeans and never really got on that well with them. I have been recommended to try the Hug Me Baby jeans from Lady K Loves so many times and everyone I’ve seen wearing them looks amazing. They are so popular that they are constantly selling out, so I was delighted to finally get my hands on a pair last week.
Hug Me Baby jeans are designed to go in and out in all the right places, perfect for curvy girls. I haven’t got a perfect hour glass figure, but I still found the jeans really flattering and very comfortable to wear. I love how super high-waisted they are and I’ve really enjoyed trying them on with all my vintage tops.
For todays pictures I’ve styled them really simply with a plain black t-shirt, a vintage belt, brogues and a hand knitted cardigan. When the jeans arrived they were a little darker and like most good quality jeans they were a little stiff. I like my jeans a bit more worn-in, so I’ve hot washed them quite a few times and shrunk them down a bit in the tumble dryer until I was happy with the fit. I like that they look a little older and more beaten up. Obviously be careful doing this on your own jeans as it’s always a risk.
I bought the jeans in a size large, I’m a pretty standard size 14 and the fit was pretty much spot on for me. If you’re buying a pair I’d recommend using the size guide to make sure.
Price-wise I think £65 is an OK price for really good quality jeans, especially since the fit is so good. I’d definitely be tempted to pick them up in the black too.
As I was feeling festive this week I added this beautiful Christmas hair flower to my outfit. I’ve literally had this in my hair all week!

December 22, 2015 at 8:01 pmThese look sooooooo good. I have the worst tim buying highwaisted jeans. My tummy protrudes and I have no ass. So if it fits at the waist, it’s baggy at the ass. But I desperately want a pair of black highwaisted jeans. And a vintage motorcycle jacket.

December 29, 2015 at 7:45 pmI don’t have a pair of jeans from them, but I think it looks fabulous on you. I am a huge fan of high waisted retro style jeans, and own several pairs. How do I style it? Anywhere from a feminine blouse to a plain tee shirt, just as you did!
