I absolutely love it when one of my favourite companies decides to become an advertiser on Vintage Frills. For a long time I’ve been a big fan of Atypical Girl. This lovely online shop sells the very best true vintage as well as a line of vintage inspired clothing from a great selection of designers, as well as their own brand.
The website stocks clothing from the 1940s to the 1970s and I absolutely adore everything on the site. The owner Simone has a really good eye for lovely one off pieces. I decided to pick my highlights from 3 decades. So if whether you’re a 50s girl at heart or prefer flowing 70s dresses, this is great place to find that perfect outfit…
1950s
Lace Wiggle Dress – Pink Floral Dress – Poodle Dress
I absolutely love these three dresses, although they are from the same decade they are all completely different. All of them are so classy and feminine. The floral dress would make a perfect summer staple and would look great worn to a wedding or summer party. I particularly love the little poodle detail on the last dress!
1960s
Hippy Dress – Silk Cocktail Dress – Crochet Two Piece
The sixties was such a great decade for fashion, I’ve chosen a real mix of styles here. I wear a lot of sixties and seventies maxi dresses in the summer and I think this one is just stunning. If you prefer a more classic classy sixties look then the cocktail dress would be perfect, plus it’s my very favourite colour – mustard! I just really like the crochet two piece set, while very typically sixties it has quite a modern fashion-forward look to it too.
1970s
Floral Maxi Dress – Corduroy Skirt – Peasant Dress
The two maxi dresses would be absolutely perfect for the summer. The middle outfit represents everything I love about the seventies, the earth tone colours are simply lovely.
Which is you’re favourite decade, are you like me and switch it up or do you just stick to one era?
Find all the above outfits and many more on the Atypical Girl website.

April 3, 2016 at 6:10 pmI think the owner has good taste – however, the vast majority of stock seems to be a size 10 or under, hardly anything is in larger sizes! I keep checking back every now and again but am always disappointed. It’s such a shame, as there is some really gorgeous stuff. x
