My Week in Pictures 3rd – 9th July

July 11, 2017

Last week I decided to start doing My Week in Pictures posts on here again, I love looking back on these posts and remembering what I actually do with all my time! So here’s another instalment, I’m still getting used to needing to have pictures for every day, so please bare with me, I’ve been a very busy over tired mum as well as a blogger this week!

Monday:

As with most weeks, Monday was a getting things done kinda day. It involved ironing, housework, and some baking for a future recipe article. Here’s a little sneak peek of what I made, can you guess what it is?

Tuesday:

This was an absolutely lovely day. After dropping the kids at school I rushed home to put on something pretty and headed to the Kent countryside to meet my friend Holly. We visited Chartwell, the former family home of Winston Churchill and now a National trust property. As I recently read a book about Clementine Churchill I was particularly fascinated by their family home and the beautiful gardens that surround it. I will eventually write a proper post about this one, as there really is a lot to say. So look out for that in the future.

I wore my all time favourite 1950s dress, which I’ve featured on here numerous times. I teamed it up with a straw hat from primary and my yellow Miss L Fire shoes.

Here’s me and Holly together, she looks fabulous in her original 1940s dress.

After our visit we headed to the gorgeous nearby village Westerham for a bite to eat in the local tearoom and a look round the charity shops. The village is absolutely stunning and the perfect place to have a break from London for the afternoon. We popped into the lovely village church as well, here’s a view from the churchyard, so beautiful!

Wednesday:

Wednesday was an exciting day for us, as Jess had her induction day at her new high school. She was so excited to spend the day getting to know her new teachers and meeting all the other pupils.

After dropping her off I headed to London with Fay and her mum to check out the Dot Com Gift Shop Christmas in July press day. This is always one of my favourites. Here are a couple of my best bits and of course I’ll have a full post up for this later in the year.

After that I rushed back for a barbecue at Jess’s new school which was a great end to a lovely sunny summer day.

Thursday:

Thursday morning was spent at Ikea with my mum choosing Lila a new bed. She’s now completely grown out of her toddler bed, so it time for something a bit bigger. I can’t wait to rearrange her room and choose new bedding. Last year I blogged about Jessica’s too  makeover, so I might do the same again with Lila’s room.

The rest of the day was spent grocery shopping, cleaning and running the kids around to various activities.

Friday:

Friday was another getting things done day. I wrote and published my Joanie Clothing review, cleaned the house and replied to a ridiculous amount of emails.

Saturday:

This was yet another busy getting things done day. We picked up Lila’s new bed and put it together, I then took her out to choose all her new bedding for it, she was so excited and happy. When I finished her room properly I’ll get a blog post up showing you everything.

Sunday:

On Sunday I headed to Hastings for the day to visit The Classic Car Boot Sale on Hastings Pier and to just enjoy a the beach and the sunshine with Fay and our friend G. This is another one that will have a full blog post of it’s own very soon. I really do have a lot to write!

How gorgeous does the pier look in the sunshine?!

Here’s my outfit from the day. I wore an original 50s dress, which I featured in an outfit post last year.

Watching:

It’s been a pretty busy week, but I did start watching Anne with an E on Netflix. This is a remake of the classic Anne of Green Gables series and it is a really good watch.

Reading:

This week i have started re-reading First Lady, the biography of Clementine Churchill, after visiting Chartwell I just had to read this one again.

Weekly Goals:

My weekly goals are pretty much the same as last week! To get more sleep and to take pictures every day for these posts. As you can see it was a pretty busy life week, which is why I didn’t get many posts up. So this week I will try to catch up and get lots on here for you to read.

Weekly Wishlist:

Here are some of the things I’ve been coveting this week, I’ve had my eye on this dress for absolutely ages, I can never resist a seaside print! The cardigan and accessories and so cheerful, I’m such a big fan of anything yellow at the moment.

I have another really busy week ahead, as a mum July can be completely crazy and so much happens in the blogging world at this of year as well. I absolutely cannot wait for the kids to break up from school so we can do lots of fun stuff and outings together.
