In the run up to christmas is always worth looking into thrifty gift ideas. One of my favourite craft books is Homemade Gifts Vintage Style by Sarah Moore. The book has some lovely ideas for classy classic gifts. In itself the book is beautiful and printed on thick quality paper, inside the pictures and colours are beautiful. Gift ideas inside include cake stands, soaps covered in vintage paper, handmade jams and jellies, lavender bunnies, lampshades and notebooks to name but a few.
The instructions are simple and clear to follow and most of the equipment needed is easy enough to find. The gifts are all the sort of thing I would be happy to give away and there’s some great upcycling which would be great for the home. There are templates for the sewing projects at the back of the book as well as a list of suggested suppliers.
I have had a go at the lavender bunnies, notebooks and soaps myself and I’ll be making many more of the projects over the next couple of months to use as gifts for family and friends this christmas.
