Spring has finally spring! Well sort of! Here in London, we’ve had one gorgeous sunny day this week and that has definitely put me into a Spring mood! I’ve been listing lots of gorgeous Spring pieces on the shop over the last few weeks Including my newest collection, which features some fabulous vintage in shades of blue, white and red. As this is one of my favourite collections so far this year, I thought it was high time that I got back onto the blog to share some of these beauties with you.
I’ve been hoarding some of these beauties away for a while, including one from my own collection, but they all go so perfectly together, to make a pretty Spring collection. The collection features swathes of beautiful crisp cotton and beautiful feminine prints, including some extra special Laura Ashley pieces.
My favourite styles for Spring are flowing maxi dresses and cute smock dresses, because they work really well in traditional weather, when it’s not too hot and not too cold. I love fresh crisp cottons and pretty buttons and ruffles.
First up is this fabulous little smock dress. She’s made from a lovely thick cotton and has an adorable blue and white floral print. But my favourite part has got to be the contrasting red buttons and sweet little sailor style collar. Unfortunately the label has been cut out of her, so we’ll never know the brand. She’s very similar to a Laura Ashley, but I don’t think she is by the brand.

This one however, is a Laura Ashley. This adorable 1970s nightgown is almost too good to wear at bedtime! She’s made from a lovely light cotton and has some adorable crochet lace trim. I’d be tempted to add a cute belt and some sandals and wear her as a dress. Or just channel my inner Victorian and wear her to waft around the house!

I’m always sad to see a wounded Laura Ashley dress, but the reality is that these were quite expensive dresses when new and their original owners often got a lot of wear out of them. This beautiful 1970s Laura shirt dress has definitely seen better days and has a few condition issues, but still has plenty of wear for her next loving owner. I absolutely love the colour and pretty floral print.
– 1970s Red and White Laura Ashley Dress Size 8-10 –
Another stunning vintage smock dress, this one is also by Laura Ashley. This one is in beautiful condition, with lovely crisp cotton and such a pretty ditsy floral print. She has a beautiful ruffle at the front, pretty button and a pie crust neck, as well as little pleats and full sleeves – all the little details that make Laura Ashley dresses so special.
– Laura Ashley Blue Ditsy Floral Smock Dress Size 10 –
This dress is from my own collection and I bought her about 15 years ago! She’s not fit me for a very long time, but I held on to her because she’s so pretty and unique. But generally I don’t like to hold onto things that I’m not using or wearing, so it’s time to send her off to a new home. She has the most beautiful full skirt and I adore the fold down details on the chest.
– Vintage 70s Striped Maxi Dress Size 12 –
One of the most special pieces in this collection is this stunning Laura Ashley wedding dress. She is the perfect romantic dream dress to get married in and has all the things we love about Laura Ashley, but with a little extra something special for the big day. The seersucker cotton is wonderfully heavy and there is so much fabric in the super full skirt. All you need is something borrowed and something blue to complete the look!
– Vintage Laura Ashley Prairie Wedding Dress Size 8 –
This beauty has always been a bit of a mystery as I originally bought her with some 70s dresses, but on closer inspection she seemed much older and her construction and features like snap fastenings at the side, make me believe she is more likely to be from the 30s. She’s made from the most beautiful sheer striped cotton, with an interesting block print design.
– White Maxi Dress with Blue and Red Print Size 8 –
This pale grey maxi dress is another lovely Laura. For this time of year I’d pair her with a high neck blouse and a chunky cardigan, but she could be worn as a sun dress in the summer. I love the subtle white floral print against the pale grey. These pinafore styles are very versatile and I’m always delighted to source them for the shop.
