I love a bargain baking buy, when you bake as much as I do it’s nice to have new things, especially when you don’t have to spend a fortune. I always look out for baking bits in shops like Poundland, Aldi and Lidl as they often have lovely things and they are so affordable. Last week I popped into Lidl to buy some bread and came out with some cute cake cases which I can’t wait to try. They were last weeks deal, but they may still have a few in, if you wanted to get some yourself.

I can’t remember exactly how much each items costs but they were around £3 each so totally bargainous, especially since similar things cost a lot more elsewhere. I’m going to have so much fun making the perfect cakes to go in each of these cases and I think the kids will enjoy joining in too.

First up was this cute mould which I am planning to use to add a pretty twist to a classic vintage cake recipe. These could also be used to make little blancmanges or other set desserts.

How adorable are these cute teacup shaped silicone cake cases?! I might have to come up with an earl grey favoured cupcake to go in these!

I’ve wanted some plant pot cake cases for absolutely ages, but never invested in any. I’m so glad I waited and got these affordable ones. Perfect for chocolate muffins with a little flower decoration on top!
Look out for recipes using these really soon! Have you bought any new baking bits lately?
