Last month I wrote a review of my stay at Champneys spa. I mentioned that I’d done a bit of beauty shopping while I was there. I’m a big skin care addict and I love a good pamper, so it was really fun picking out some new products to enjoy as well as stocking up on a couple of old favourites.

The shopping at Champneys is pretty good. They have their own dedicated store, filled with their normal product range as well as a selection of gifts and fitness clothing. They also had a little Elemis shop, which has their full range of luxury skincare. As a couple of months have passed since I made my purchases I thought it was high time, I let you know what I think of them.

They had a special offer in the shop, where you got a discount if you bought the Good as New Hip and Thigh Firming Gel, Skin Firming Shower Scrub and the Exfoliating Mitt together.

The shower scrub is now one of my favourite products, mostly because I love the smell. It’s a really nice product to use and my skin feels great afterwards.

I’ve only used the firming gel a few times, mainly because it’s quite long-winded. The tube comes with a massage applicator, with little roller balls to work the gel into the skin. It feels amazing and really does firm up my skin, but it takes a while and I certainly don’t have time to do it the recommended twice a day! When I do use it though, I’m really happy with the results.

The exfoliating mitt, is super scratchy and great when you want to completely remove all your dead skin. As a massive exfoliator addict, who loves super scrubby products, its unusual for me to find something too coarse, but this really is a bit much. So once a week is just fine for me.

I bought the Detox Hip and Thigh Firming Mud, mostly because I liked the look of it. Plus I’ve always been a fan of mud based products. This is perfect if you want to create a home spa environment and have a proper pamper.

My only misgiving with this is that you have to leave it on for 10-20 and that can get a bit messy! But otherwise I love everything about this. It softens the skin while making it feel firm, it smells lovely and rinses off really easily. My skins feels lovely for days after using this, so I’d definitely recommend it.

I also picked up this Champneys yoga sweater. I love finding stuff I can wear to exercise that appeals to my vintage side. There were a few choices of picture and I absolutely loved this one. The jumper is nice and loose and adds a warmer layer, when working out.

I’ve always really liked Elemis skincare, it works really well with my skin and I like products which lots of natural extracts and ingredients. I’ve used their Papaya Enzyme Peel loads of times, its one of my all time favourite products. I knew I needed to get one of them and when I saw I could get it as part of a set and I saved loads of money I was delighted.

One of the products that was new to me was the Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser. I’ve been using this most days since I’ve got it. I find it quite similar to my Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. It works really well as a hot cloth cleanser and not only melts away make-up effortlessly, it also leaves my skin feeling fabulous.

Another product that I had tried previously is the Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash balm, This lovely cream, gives tired skin the boost it needs. I use this occasionally on tired skin days and find it really soothing and brightening.

I haven’t really got round to using the Cellular Recovery Skin Bliss Capsules, but they look really good, so I’m sure I will soon. It’s always quite fun getting sets like this as it give you the chance to try new products, that you wouldn’t otherwise have tried.

Not only was the Elemis concession packed with lovely products, but the lady who worked there was also fantastic. We had a lot of questions about the products and she answered all of them and was able to help with recommendations.

I was after a really good eye product, to help with fine lines and dark circles and all the other things that tired mums in their 30s get! She recommended the Absolute Eye Mask, which is a super potent eye mask. I absolutely love this product and use it a couple of times a week. You can really see and feel the difference with this one.

I also picked up a pack of cleansing cloths. I always need these, as I use wash off cleansers and use a clean cloth every time I cleanse. These are super soft and have washed brilliantly.

As I’d spent over £80 I got this free gift, which was a lovely little extra. I’ve used all of the miniature products in here and they’re all very good. I particularly like the Sweet orchid Bodycream which smells lovely. Although I liked the other products in the gift, I probably wouldn’t repurchase as I already have products I love.

When it comes to beauty products, I’m a bit of a creature of habit. Once I find something I like, I will keep re-buying it until I find a new product which I love even more. It’s been a long time since I last wrote a beauty favourites post and so I thought it was high time I shared some of my favourite new editions to my beauty routine, as well as couple of old favourites which I’ve mentioned before.

Beauty Favourites February 2017 - Rituals - Lush - Miller HarrisAt the moment I’m a bit obsessed with Rituals skincare. I’ve been using their bath and shower products for ages, as I love all their beautiful fragrances. I’d never tried any of their facial skincare until recently. I have been into their new Kingston branch quite a few times this year and recently had a skincare consultation. I absolutely loved the products they showed me and decided to take a few home with me.

Rituals Cleanser and TonerFirst up I purchased the Mild Cleansing Milk and Ultra Calming Facial Toner. These lovely products are really light and soothing and make my face feel soft and clean without stripping any moisture or feeling too heavy. They are really gentle and you only need to use a tiny amount of product to get the job done.

Rituals MoisturiserTo complement my new cleanser and toner I picked up an Active Moisture Lotion. I’m completely in love with this lovely moisturiser, again it’s not too heavy on the skin and perfect for applying in the morning before make-up. This really adds a boost to  my skin and absorbs really quickly leaving no stickiness. For my body I’ve been using the Ritual of Sakura Magic Touch Body Cream, which has been my go-to body lotion for the last couple of years. It smells absolutely divine and makes my skin feel amazing. I slather this on before bed and wake up with lovely soft skin, every morning.

Lush Snow Fairy and Dark AngelsMy two favourite Lush products at the moment are Dark Angels, which I’ve bought many times before and Snow Fairy Body Conditioner which I picked up for the first time in the post-Christmas sales and absolutely love. Dark Angels is perfect for when you want a really good cleanse. It’s packed with lots of fab ingredients including essential oils for a thorough clean. Sadly the Snow Fairy body conditioner is only a seasonal product, but it is one of Lush’s nicest scents. This conditioner is used in the shower for supper soft, sweet-smelling skin.

Poirier d'un SoirLasty, I just got a new bottle of my all time favourite perfume, as a gift from my husband. Pourier d’ un Soir by Miller Harris, is a beautiful old-fashioned scent. People always ask me about my perfume when I wear it and I get loads of compliments on it. It’s a little pricey, but each bottle usually lasts me about a year, so I see it as an investment.

What are your favourite beauty products at the moment, I’d love to hear your recommendations.

I am always busy, be it running my kids around, cleaning the house, writing blog posts and lots of fun things like going to events and sourcing vintage for my business. The negative side to always being busy, is that I get really tired all the time. Now I’ve turned 30 I’m more aware of the negative impact this can have on my skin. I do eat very healthily and try really hard to drink enough, but I also try to have a really good skin care regime too.

ARK Skin Perfector Mask ReviewAs I’ve mentioned many times on the blog, I’m a bit of a skincare addict. When shopping for beauty products it’s always skincare items that I enjoy buying the most and will invest slightly more of my budget on. I was recently offered a new skincare product to review. I have been aware of ARK skincare for a while, but had never tried any of their products. They produce a beautiful range of specially formulated for different aged skin. They also avoid harmful chemicals in their products and favour natural ingredients, which is always something I look out for when choosing any kind of beauty product.

ARK Hydration Injection Masque ReviewI was sent the Skin Perfector Hydration Injection Masque, which is aimed at all ages of skin. This product is perfect for the summer months when a mixture of sun, late nights and cocktails can get the better of us, especially during festival season. This SOS rescue masque is designed to instantly rehydrate the skin and get it back to its former glory.

ARK Natural IngredientsIt is packed with lots of lovely ingredients including; Vitamin A to help keep skin supple; Vitamin B5 for smoothness; Vitamin C for brighter-looking skin and Vitamin E for antioxidant protection. Hyaluronic Acid Booster drenches skin with moisture, optimising the circulation of water through all skin layers and providing 24-hour protection against water loss. Sugar Beet and Abyssinian Oil intensely nourish the skin for a plush, luxury skin feel.

ARK Age Aware Skincare ReviewThe product is easy to apply, you just smooth a thin layer over freshly cleansed skin. The amount of time that you leave the product on depends on your age. Having just entered the 30s bracket, I left it on for a full 10 minutes. I then gently removed it with a muslin cloth.

ARK Skin Perfector ReviewSo what did I think? My first impression was how much I liked the formula, it has quite a thick honey-like consistency, with a lovely natural smell. It feels really nice on the skin and I found it easy to relax and read my book for 10 minutes while the mask worked its magic. After removing it, I could definitely feel a huge improvement in my skin, which felt soft and less tired. Appearance-wise my skin definitely looked brighter and less tired after using the mask.

ARK Skin Perfector Mask ReviewI’ve been using the product once a week for the last few weeks and I still absolutely love it. The quality is fantastic and I am really seeing and feeling a difference in my skin since using it. I will definitely be re-ordering this one and adding it to the few favourite products which I use every week. I’d also love to find some other items from the ARK range to try.

Find the full range on the ARK website or find a local supplier in their list of stockists.

*This product was sent to me for the purposes of review. All options are my own and I only recommend products that I have tried for a few weeks myself and have really loved.

As I’ve said many a time on here, I’m a bit of a skincare addict. I love a good pamper and I’m forever trying new products to keep my skin feeling happy and healthy. I’d been wanting to try a cleansing brush for a really long time, so when I was gifted one at Bloggers Fashion Week earlier this year I couldn’t wait to give it a try. I’ve been using it most days since then and thought it was finally time I shared a review of this fab beauty tool.

Magnitone Cleansing Brush Review

The idea behind the Magnitone, is to give a deeper cleanse and exfoliate than tradition cleansing methods. Not only does the vibrating brush head give your skin a good scrub (otherwise known as vibra-sonic technology), but it also sends gentle electromagnetic vibration deep under the surface of the skin. This process opens up blocked pores and naturally shakes out the impurities that cause breakouts and black heads.

Magnitone Review

You can use the brush with your normal cleanser or facewash and I’ve used it with a variety of skincare products, all with great results. Using the brush helps prepare the skin for better moisturiser absorbtion and creates the perfect base for applying make-up. If you’re a fan of fake tan it’s a great tool for getting your skin nice and smooth for an even application.

Using the brush takes about 1 minute a day, I use it in the morning as part of my regular skin care routine. It has the advantage of being waterproof so you can use it in the the bath or shower. There are two modes ‘deep clean’ and ‘sensitive’ so you can tailor your routine to your skin type. It also has a handy feature where it beeps when you need to change the area of your face you are cleansing.

Magnitone Lucid Review

The model I received is a limited edition collaboration with Pixie Lott, which comes in a lovely bright pink. The brush came boxed and the set includes instructions, a matching pink headband and the charger. The brush charges with a magnetic charger which is really handy.

Magnitone Lucid Review Cleansing Brush

Magnitone Pixie Lott Review

I’ve always had very clear skin so I can’t really judge if it has reduced breakouts, however my skin has definitely felt really soft and glowy after using it and it absolutely feels smoother. I’ve found that my daily cleanse is a lot quicker when I use the brush. All in all I’m really happy with the quality of the product and the results. It’s definitely something I will continue to use.

Magnitone also have a selection of other products for different needs, some with interchangeable brushes and different features for your age and skin needs. You can find out more about their products on the Magnitone website.

The Magnitude Lucid retails at £69.99 although it is currently reduced to £45 on Amazon.

All the way back in December I went to a fantastic event at the John Lewis store in Kingston. As well as being shown around John Lewis amazing behind the scenes Christmas house, we were also treated to a demonstration from natural beauty product company Espa. We were given a goody bag stuffed with lovely sample size products to try at home, I’ve only recently got round to trying them all and now I’m completely hooked!

Espa Products Review

Espa started off as a spa company, and when they couldn’t find products they loved enough to use in their spas, they created their own line of gorgeous natural spa products. The products really are beautiful and are absolutely packed with essential oils. They’ve added a touch of luxury to my skincare routine over the last couple of weeks.

I thought I’d do a little review of everything that I’ve tried as I really would recommend all of the products. Not only have they been great on my skin, but the essential oils have made me feel really relaxed and pampered at the end of each day.

Espa Cleansers

The Optimal Skin Pro Cleanser is  multi-functional gel cleanser which contains tiny jojoba beads. As you rub the cleanser into the skin the tiny beads melt away. You can then rinse it off immediately or leave it on for up to 15 minutes like a mask.  As with all the Espa products this smells absolutely incredible. I’ve been using it twice a week while having a long luxurious soak in the bath and my skin has been very happy, clean and soft as a result.

I’ve been using the Hydrating Cleansing Milk to remove my make-up and clean away any impurities. I just smooth it over my skin and wipe it away with a muslin cloth and warm water. This cleanser really gets the job done and gets rid of all traces of make-up, leaving my skin looking fresh and clean.

Espa Shower Gels

I tried two shower gels from the range. The Energising Shower Gel is the perfect pick me up for first thing in the morning. It contains eucalyptus and peppermint to wake up the senses as well as coconut extract which makes the product naturally foamy. I loved the zingy smell of this one and I’m very tempted to pick up the full sized one as it takes me forever to gather my get-up-and-go in the morning and this might entice me from my bed!

The other shower gel I tried was the Body Smoothing Shower Gel. This luxurious shower cream contains rosehip seeds to exfoliate the skin as well as coconut and yucca to cleanse and jasmine and ylang yang to to moisturise. As you can imagine this lovely product smells absolutely amazing. I’ve been using this in the evening before bed as it’s really soothing.

Espa Moisturiser Mask Serum

The Skin Radiance Mask is a brightening treatment which revitalises and renews tired skin. I’m always looking for products that give my face a little pick-me-up as I never get enough sleep and feel like when I’m really tired I lose my glow a little. Muberry, bearberry and liquorice within the product brighten and even skin tone while pumpkin enzymes remove dull cells and meadowsweet stimulates cell renewal. All very scientific, but the product really did my skin feel lovely and I thought my skin looked better after using it. I liked the light oily consistency of the product which smoothed on easily.

The Optimal Skin ProSerum is my favourite product from the whole range. Luckily you only need to use a little bit at a time as I only have a very small sample and I’ve been using it nearly every day. This lovely serum smells incredible and all you need is a few drops spread over face and neck before moisturiser. The serum is a very light oil which absorbs instantly and is very light so doesn’t leave a heavy residue on the skin. It helps to brighten and even skin tone as well as firming and protecting against premature ageing. I really really love this product!

I also tried the Skin radiance Moisturiser, this again has lots of beautiful natural ingredients that work wonders for smooth healthy skin. This is a great every day moisturiser which is very light and absorbs very quickly. I’ve found this to be a great base under make-up as it really smooths and brightens the skin.

Espa Hydrating Toner

The Hydrating Floral Spafresh Toner is a handy essential and is perfect for use after cleanser. It’s a really refreshing product which contains rose damascena to hydrate and prepare your skin for moisturiser. It also contains rose geranium to sooth and protect as well as neroli to rejuvenate and soften skin. Again the product smells lovely and left my skin feeling fantastic.

Espa Pink Hair and Scalp Mud

The only product I haven’t yet tried is the Pink Hair and Scalp Mud, mainly because I completely forget about it every time I washed my hair. I will definitely be giving it a try soon though. I love conditioning treatments, especially since I started colouring my hair again last year. This is full of vitamins to nourish the hair as well as clay to strengthen and add shine to hair.

I was so pleased with all the products. They are quite expensive and definitely a luxury product, but I think making yourself look and feel wonderful is worth investing a little extra in. As with most high-end products you don’t need to use much, so I think all the products will last for quite some time. All the beautiful natural ingredients made me feel amazing and my skin has had a real treat trying all the fabulous Espa products.
