With halloween just a few days away, it’s time to make the final preparations for any spooky celebrations you might be having. If you haven’t carved your pumpkin already, it’s time to do that and put out any other decorations. I love any excuse to get my bake on, so today I rustled up some creepy halloween cupcakes, with the help of some frosting and sprinkles that were gifted to me by Hobbycraft.
To save a lot of time and mess, I used a pre-made frosting from Hobbycraft, a multi pack of halloween sprinkles and some gummy sweets that I had already bought. I made basic vanilla cupcakes using my favourite Mary Berry recipe and in no time at all I had some yummy halloween cupcakes!
Once my cupcakes had cooled, I popped all of the icing into a piping back with a large nozzle. I piped out a basic swirl and then used the sprinkles to decorate. To finish off I added a creepy sweet and thats it! So easy!

I love how the black frosting looks! You could do so many different things with it, I like the idea of taking a bit more time and doing skeleton themed cakes, something I might try next year! You could cut bones out of white fondant and it would look amazing.
This was another really fun little Halloween activity and the products I used are definitely ones I would use again. I’m looking forward to doing something similar for Christmas and Easter. It’s also easy enough that I could do it agin with the kids.
