This weekly meme is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey. Every Monday we share the highlights of our reading week, and our plans for next week.
This week I managed to finish The Casual Vacancy by J K Rowling. This book has had very mixed reviews, I personally thought it was an accomplished piece of writing and found it very thought-provoking. I have so much to say about this one and I’m really hoping to get down to writing a review this week.
I also finished With Love at Christmas by Carole Matthews, this is a lovely christmas read and I would highly recommend it. I will try to get this one reviewed this week too.
I have started reading The Vintage Teacup Club by Vanessa Greene, I’m only a few chapters in, but so far so good. This book really appeals to me. I’m planning on doing a little feature or two on books with vintage themes, and this is just perfect for vintage lovers and thrifters alike.
I have just got the audio book of One Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern, looking forward to having a listen to this one over the next week.
The to read list hasn’t been added to but is still huge, so I won’t be adding to it until after christmas, these are the ones I really want to get read in the next couple of weeks.
Laura’s Handmade Life by Amanda Addison – The First Last Kiss by Ali Harris – From Notting Hill to New York… Actually – Never Can Say Goodbye by Christina Jones
I haven’t written any reviews this week as I’ve been super busy so next week should be pretty review heavy as I have loads of catching up to do.
In other news my little girl played Mary in her school nativity this week and was absolutely perfect, I was such a proud mum. She had a busy week having been on a quick holiday to Lapland with her Grandparents last week as well. We’re all feeling really festive here!

December 17, 2012 at 6:22 pmYou’d think a J.K Rowlings book would have a nicer cover. I hate that damn cover! Sorry but it doesn’t make me want to buy it. Anyway thanks for the Christmas recomendation ‘With Love at Christmas’

December 20, 2012 at 2:49 amCongrats for your daughter’s successful performance. I am glad you are enjoying your continuing reads – at this time of year it can be hard to find as much time for reading as you might wish.
