I’ve been trying out a few more home made cosmetics, and by far the trickiest one to make is bath bombs. This is a bit more like science than most and you have to get your ingredients spot on or you end up with a foam explosion (this happened a few times)
I decided to make a video tutorial for this one too…
They came out a little flat, but I think this comes down to a little too much water. You really do only need a tiny bit. They still work perfectly though and are absolutely amazing in the bath.
You can get all the ingredients from Ebay and Amazon and the moulds I used are from IKEA.
I’d love to know if you’ve made any of my home made cosmetics or if you have any recipes of your own. I’m hoping to make soap, lip balm and bath oil over the next few weeks.

February 10, 2014 at 1:15 pmOooo this looks like such a good idea! I love bath bombs that release petals from roses, or sprigs of lavender, but they can be quite pricey. Just in time for Valentine’s – I might ask the OH if he fancies helping me make some, he loves a bit of arts and crafts. P x

February 10, 2014 at 3:16 pmIt’s so much fun, and these ones smelled amazing. Just make sure you go easy on the water as it can all go horribly wrong! xxx
