There’s nothing I love more than a big stack of books, especially craft books, recipe books and of course books on vintage fashion. I was a bit over excited when I heard that one of my favourite publishers Pavillion Books were having a £1 charity book sale. They have so many books that I love so it was a great chance to have a big stock up of inspiring reads.
The sale was being held because they are moving offices and needed to get rid of mountains of books. I’m delighted that they decided to donate the money to charity too. Good deeds all round!
It’s probably a blessing that I didn’t take my car along and opted for the tube, or I would have gone even more crazy than I actually did. Knowing I had to carry my haul made me put quite a few books back. In total I managed to drag 15 brand new books home and I’m so happy with my choices.
I use books all the time for wardrobe and blog inspiration and having had a quick leaf through this stash I feel totally inspired. So here are my choices…
I’m going to attempt to review as many of these as possible as I miss the days when I used to write book reviews all the time on here. These are all perfect for this blog as well, as I like to mix fashion, sewing and baking in as much as possible.
Did anyone else make it to the sale?
I’d like to say a little thank you to Grace from Ideas and Inspirations for spreading the word about the sale. I may have slightly damaged myself carrying them home and be £15 poorer, but I’m delighted with my new bargain books.
Fay came with me and nabbed a total of 18 new books! I’m sure she’ll be posting her purchases on her blog soon.
While I’m leafing through my books tonight I’ll be indulging in my new favourite drink Tea Pigs Green Tea with Mint – so delicious!
