This summer I have big plans to attend as many vintage themed events as possible. I always enjoy seeing people’s pictures on Instagram and this year I won’t be sitting at home admiring all the beautiful vintage outfits and classic cars, hopefully I will be out taking my own photos and experiencing it for myself.
One vintage themed event taking place this June in Yorkshire is Scampston Hall’s Big Vintage Weekend which is organised by Britain Does Vintage. I have 8 pairs of tickets for the Saturday to give away to my readers. The Saturday sees afternoon tea, dancing and a fashion show, followed by live music on the terrace, picnics, vintage cocktails (and a few surprises) within the stunning gardens of Scampston Hall. Sounds like the perfect day out for us vintage lovers.
If you want to make a weekend of it the Sunday also sounds fantastic. The day kicks off with a garden party in the beautiful grounds of Scampston Hall as well as a classic car show, more live music, Lindy Hop dance lessons, a vintage tea-tent with gorgeous vintage afternoon teas, vintage-inspired workshops running throughout the day, vintage beauty bar, vintage photo-booth, as well as of an array of the UK’s best vintage stalls, because what vintage event would be complete without a little shopping. If like me you have little ones there is also plenty of entertainment to keep them happy too.
If you are staying at the event overnight, glamping is also available. After too many festivals sleeping in a grotty old tent in the mud, the idea of a glamorous tent with an actual bed and room to get dressed definitely appeals to me!
Find out more about the event on the Britain Does Vintage Website.

April 23, 2015 at 7:58 amOo this is a super giveaway Catherine!! I love going to vintage events in different parts of the UK, and haven’t been to Yorkshire for years!!
What would I wear? Well obviously for such a grand setting I’d keep it classy and ladylike, perhaps wearing a 1920s or 1930s afternoon tea suitable outfit on day one, with little white gloves, and a simple straight cut frock. Day 2, I might fast-forward to the 1950s, as there’s nothing like sitting on a picnic rug in a full skirt and petticoat, eating dainty sandwiches out of a little wicker basket for the garden party.
Ooo!! xx

April 23, 2015 at 9:33 pmI moved to this side of the world for many reasons but one of them to attend lots of gorgeous vintage weekends like this…the ones we have attended so far have been such fun. I would wear my vintage floral frock and remix shoes and lots of bakelite bangles….and vintage sunnies to hide behind so I can rest my peepers on all the gorgeous guys and dolls attending. Wonderful prize 🙂

April 29, 2015 at 9:53 pmI would love to attend this event! I would wear my favourite Lindy Bop Yulia dress, perfect for summer with beautiful blue and orange flowers, a fluffy petticoat, nude seamed tights, my raffia handbag, pearls, my vintage white cotton gloves and vintage sunglasses I picked up at the Festival of Vintage in York last year. A beautiful English sunny summer day would make it just perfect!
