As the weather gets warmer it’s time to think about summer shoes. I’m a big fan of comfy flats and ballet pumps. As I’m always running around after two little ones, they are both pretty and practical. They also go with all my vintage dresses. Although I do own real vintage shoes, but generally they are two precious to wear every day and not always the most practical choice! My go-to place for shoes is definitely Primark, they’re cheap enough that I can get loads of pairs and they have so much choice that I can get something to go with every dress in my wardrobe.
As I was in central London yesterday for an event, I decided to brave the madness that is Oxford Street Primark. After fighting my way through the hoards of bargain hunters I managed to pick up a few pairs of shoes before getting out of the crowds as quickly as I could! I’m so happy with all the shoes I chose and I’m just hoping for lots of sunny days so I can wear them all.
Last year I bought a pair of white sandals and wore them nearly every day. If you look at last years outfit photos you’ll see them popping up a lot. They were so comfortable and looked really lovely with my 1950s dresses and homemade skirts. Sadly after a couple of months of non-stop wear they fell apart, so I was delighted to see them back in stock this year.
These ones cost just £8, which is such a bargain and they come in a selection of colours. I’d like to eventually pick them all up.
I also spotted them in a peachy pink colour and couldn’t resist getting both.
I also picked up another pair of pretty pink sandals. These are in a lovely shiny patent finish with a big pink bow. I thought these would look perfect to complete a vintage look and I’m hoping to wear these with some of my more special original vintage outfits for special occasions.
At only £6 I was tempted to get these ones in other colours too, but I’m going to see how I get on with them first.
They had their classic patent ballet pumps in so many colours, it was really hard to choose a pair. In the end I opted for these cute baby blue ones as I don’t have any shoes this colour.
These are only £4. I’ve owned quite a few pairs of these over the years and I think they last really well so such a cheap pair of shoes. The colour options this year are incredible.
The last pair I chose are a simple pair of brown latticed pumps. I thought these would be perfect with some of my darker dresses, as I have a few with brown incorporated in the print. I’ll probably also wear these with jeans.
These cost £8 and my only complaint is that they come up a little bigger than the other pairs. Because I always buy the same size in Primark, I don’t usually bother trying the shoes on. I can just about get away with them being a little big, but if you’re getting them I’d suggest trying them on first.
Have you stocked up on summer shoes yet? Do you ever get your shoes from Primark?

May 1, 2015 at 8:01 pmGorgeous choices Catherine! I find Primark shoes a tad too small for my large feet, they don’t go big enough for me. But I love the patent ones in particular you’ve picked x

May 2, 2015 at 5:17 pmThese are such great shoes! I could search every store in our part of the province and likely not find any this cute or vintage appropriate. It’s awesome that you were able to bolster your shoe wardrobe so much with this great Primark haul. They really are pretty and endlessly perfect for spring + summer. Congrats on your great new footwear!
