My original vintage dresses have been a little bit bypassed at the moment in favour of some of the lovely high street and supermarket dresses I’ve picked up recently. Last week I talked about the gorgeous Seaside print dress which I picked up at Asda. At the same time I also got this lovely lemon dress.
I usually wear dresses with full skirts for that classic 1950s look, however I’ve recently been looking for more fitted skirt styles and this one was perfect for achieving a slightly different look to what I usually go for. I absolutely love the bright lemon print As someone who very rarely wears black it’s nice to have the bright print against the darker colour.
Fit wise I went for a size 14 as I usually do. I find most George clothes come up a little big and I’d be better with somewhere in between a 12 and 14, however I’m still pretty pleased with the fit for such an affordable dress. As for the length as usual my preference would be for something slightly longer. I find dresses that go below the knee a little more flattering.
The dress is made with a stretchy cotton which makes it really comfortable and perfect for hot summer days and nights. It could be dressed up with heels for the evening or worn with flats in the day time. I wore it with a pair of really old yellow heels and some bangles and yellow vintage beads.

May 23, 2015 at 10:37 amThat is such a fabulously lovely dress!!! I’ve been after one (or a skirt) with a lemon or other citrus fruit theme for years to no avail (either those that I do found are sold out in my size or are well beyond my budget). I love that this dress marries elegance and fun so fabulously well. It really is pretty and looks awesome on you!
