I always get so excited about a new Disney x Cath Kidston collection hitting the shops. Both Disney and Cath Kidston are two of my favourite things and their collaborations are always spot on. The mix of pretty Cath Kidston Prints, with lovely classic Disney designs never fail to put a smile on my face.
The latest offering is based on one of my all time favourite Disney films Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I wanted so many things from the collection, but as always I pick up a new dress. So I chose this lovely white shirt dress with a pretty apple print. So far I have at least one dress from every single Disney x Cath Kidston collection. They have all differed in style loads, but this one definitely ticks all my dress boxes!
I always really like Cath Kidston shirt dresses, they actually allow enough room for bigger bust and I find on me the buttons don’t gape at all. I also really like the length of the dress, it sits just above the knee on me. The dress is quite roomy and not too fitted on the waist, making it really comfortable to wear all day. I pulled mine in slightly with a vintage belt to bring it in at the waist. I also really liked the slightly looser arms, I hate clothes that make me feel restricted and this is just really comfortable and very wearable.
I went for my usual size 14, which was exactly the right size. I’d say these come up pretty true to size, maybe even slightly on the large side. The dress is made from 100% viscose, giving it a beautiful drape. The fabric is light and comfortable and very breathable. It’s definitely the kind of dress you could wear all day year round, although the longer sleeves make it ideal for Autumn.
Price wise – at £85 it is not a cheap dress. As someone who lives in vintage, super market and Primark dresses, it is a big spend for me. However Cath Kidston dresses are one thing I invest in, time and time again. I have bought many dresses over the years and every single one is still going strong. They are beautifully made, they wash well and the designs are classic enough to work every year. So I don’t mind spending a bit more on something I will wear and enjoy for years.
The whole range is lovely, it pays homage to the 1930s film, while still being quite modern. The dress I chose also comes in a different print on a black background. I also really liked the sweaters and bags.
