Another month, another lovely Birchbox! While I’ve been busy buying gifts for my family and getting all festive, it was very lovely to receive this little box of treats. Like a little surprise gift to myself!
This month’s box is another one that looks pretty gorgeous from the outside. I use them, to store my vintage jewellery in, so I always love it when the box itself is gorgeous.
This months theme is Twinkle all the Way and takes inspiration from the glitz and glamour of the season. With lovely skincare and bold make up as well as a lovely chocolatey treat.
I absolutely loved the contents of this months box. There were so many products I couldn’t wait to use and I was pretty impressed with the value for money too. So what was inside my December Birchbox?
First up was an amazing liquid lipstick from Laritzy Cosmetics. I’ve not heard of the brand before, but the lipstick colour was so gorgeous, I couldn’t wait to give it a try. This lipstick goes on like an absolute dream. So smooth and easy to apply. Almost instantly it dries to a perfect matt finish and it stays put for hours. It stayed on so well that I had to use a good cleanser to get it all off. What I loved most was the absolutely stunning colour, just the right shade of red for a bold winter lip. I’m so impressed with this product and would love to have it in other colours.
The next product was the Oh K Bubble Sheet Mask. This mask reacts with oxygen in the air to form little bubbles when you apply it to your face. It looks pretty funny on, but my goodness does it work wonders for your skin. I had a lovely pamper using it. My skin felt great wearing it and even better afterwards. This is another product I would definitely use again.
The next product is an old favourite, that I’ve bought myself several times in the past. The Rituals Ritual of Ayurveda Body Cream was a lovely surprise in my box. I’m a huge fan of Rituals cosmetics anyway, so I’m always delighted when I get one of their products in my Birchbox. This smells absolutely devine and the formula of their body creams is absolutely fantastic.
Next up was the Percy and Reed Totally TLC Hydrating Mask. I used this amazing hair mask at the same time as the bubble face mask, as part of a little pampering session. Having long thick hair, I like to really take care of it and use a treatment on it every week. This generous sample was enough to cover all my hair and was really easy to spread through my hair. I left it on a little longer than the recommended 5 minutes and afterwards my hair looked and smelt wonderful. The results have really lasted as well and my hair is still looking and feeling great a few days on. I’m very tempted to treat myself to the full sized version of this.
The last product is the gorgeous Gogo Tint by Benefit. I am always so happy when Birchbox include Benefit products, as they are another of my favourite brands. Their sample sizes are always pretty generous too and last me a few weeks. This stain leaves a subtle pink glow to lips and cheeks and its a really easy product to use. I’ve used this a couple of times and really like the effect. I’ll be popping the sample in my make up bag and using a lot over the next few weeks, but it may end up being a repurchase.
There were also two bonus products in the December Birchbox. The first was a comb. If you’re one of my friends and family you’ll know that I have a weird phobia of combs, in fact seeing this picture is making me feel a bit funny! 🤭 I’ll explain that one another day. But I’ll be giving this one away asap. Nice comb though, if you like combs.
The other bonus product was some lovely chocs from Total Chocolate. I don’t eat chocolate so I gave these away, but it was so nice to have some extras in the Birchbox, even though on this occasion they weren’t for me.
I’m really happy with the December Birchbox and it’s contents and have to say, this is one of my favourite boxes yet. All the beauty products were fantastic and perfect for me. I would use them all again. Fingers crossed for more lovely Birchboxes next year. You never know I might actually remember to review every month again next year!
You can still pick up the December Birchbox on the Birchbox website and their are lots of great subscription options to choose from.
