What’s in my January Birchbox 2019

January 25, 2019

January Birchbox Review 2019 | Vintage FrillsHello lovelies, I hope your new year has been good so far. I can’t believe we’re already coming towards the end of January. It’s certainly been cold outside, but this months gorgeous January Birchbox has definitely been brightening up my month.

January Birchbox Review 2019 | Vintage FrillsThe latest box hit my door mat in the first week of January and since then I’ve been trying out all the products, to let you know what I think. For those of you who haven’t seen it before, Birchbox is a monthly subscription box, packed with lots of lovely beauty products, which arrives once a month.

January Birchbox Review 2019 | Vintage FrillsYet again the box had some really lovely contents. This month’s box theme is Shake Your Pom Poms and it’s all about bringing a little cheer to your new year. It certainly is a great distraction from the grey outdoors and the treats inside have been a great pick me up when I’ve needed a pamper.

What’s inside my January Birchbox?

January Birchbox Review 2019 | CLÉ Cosmetics Highlighter | Vintage FrillsFirst up was  a lovely highlighter. The CLÉ Cosmetics Essence Moonlighter Cushion is a liquid highlighter with luminescent pearl powder. It is easy to apply with both the soft sponge or with or your fingers. It has a lovely formula and I loved how blendable it was. The full priced product costs £22 and I think if this one lasts well, it will definitely be something I would consider re-purchasing.

January Birchbox Review 2019 | Dr Botanicals Cleansing Bar | Vintage FrillsNext up and probably my favourite product from the box is Dr. Botanicals Cleansing Bar in Lemon Superfood. It is made from 98% natural ingredients and is designed to cleanse, exfoliate and restore your natural glow. I’ve never really used a cleansing bar before, but I’m definitely a convert to this lovely lather! It left my skin feeling clean, soft and fresh. I would definitely recommend this one. The RRP for these is only £5.90 and a little goes a long way, so it’s definitely a good value item.

January Birchbox Review 2019 | Philip Kingsley Shampoo | Vintage FrillsThe next product I tried was the Philip Kingsley Flaky/Itchy Scalp Shampoo. I actually don’t have any trouble with my scalp, but I gave the shampoo a go anyway. This did a great job of making my hair clean and shiny and I didn’t need to wash it again for a whole week, so I was really happy with the results. The full sized product costs £24 and is a little over budget for me, so although I liked the product, it’s not something I would need to buy again.

January Birchbox Review 2019 | Afterspa Facial Micro Scrubber | Vintage FrillsThe Afterspa Facial Micro Scrubber, is another product that is perfect for me. This duel texture facial scrubber worked really well with the cleansing bar I mentioned above. I’ve been keeping this in the shower and giving my face a good clean every few days. It’s gentle enough to do it’s job without being too abrasive. I really liked this product as well. The normal ripe for this is £7.

January Birchbox Review 2019 | Doucce Maxlash Volumizer Mascara | Vintage FrillsThe only product I haven’t got round to trying yet is the Doucce Maxlash Volumizer Mascara. This looks really good, but I didn’t want to start using it until I’d finished my current mascara. If it’s good I’ll let you know in the future how I got on with it.

January Birchbox Review 2019 | Pom Pom Hair Ties | Vintage FrillsThe bonus gift in the box was these adorable pom pom hair ties. I should probably give these to the kids, but I think I’ll keep them for me!

January Birchbox Review 2019 | Vintage FrillsI was really impressed with this box and Birchbox in general recently all the products have been fantastic.
