What’s New in The Vintage Frills Shop – Classic Lingerie, Feminine Jewellery and Sweet Hair Accessories

June 4, 2021

Hello my lovelies! I’m changing things up a little bit round here and have been putting lots of extra time and effort into the Vintage Frills Shop. I have also been working on lots of blog posts behind the scenes and will be having some really useful content coming your way very soon. I’ve decided that for the time being I’ll be doing stock drops every other Friday at 6pm on the shop. Although I love putting larger collections together, it’s really nice just putting together a few beautiful pieces and releasing them more often. Today I’m sharing all the lovely things that went live on the shop in the last week, although in future I’ll try and pop a blog post up beforehand.

Most of my last few collections have been very dress based and oh my goodness, so many gorgeous dresses have gone to their new homes over the last few months. However this time I thought I’d focus mainly on jewellery, hair accessories and lingerie. Most of the pieces from this drop are from my own vintage collection, or things I’ve been holding onto for a while until I was ready to let them go. I often use vintage pieces as photo props for a while, before passing them on, so you may recognise a few things from my flat lays!

Lingerie

I have a bit of a weakness for pretty vintage lingerie. I actually used to work for Rigby and Peller a high end lingerie shop in London and really grew a passion for beautiful lingerie. They also had an amazing archive of beautiful and fascinating old pieces which always caught my interest. I can never resist picking up interesting pieces of vintage lingerie and I thought it was high time some of them made it to the shop.

This little collection includes some amazing 30s pieces, which I picked up a few years ago and I’m finally getting round to selling! Everything goes so well together and I just love seeing how well they fit in with the other things on the shop.

This beautiful 1930s bed jacket is one of my favourites. It’s made from lovely pale pink cotton, with a pretty lace trim all the way round. Perfect for looking elegant, whilst lounging around or sitting in bed reading a book. You could even just wear it out and about over a simple top! Shop 1930s bed jacket.

Another stunning 30s bed jacket that I currently have for sale. This one is made from rayon and is more of a traditional bed jacket shape with sleeves. I adore the lace and ribbon details and the delicate little stitches. Such beautiful attention to detail, which we just wouldn’t see on modern nightwear! Shop 1930s rayon bed jacket

This 1950s deadstock Lise Charmel longline bra is a real treasure. It is unworn and still has it’s original label. Lise Charmel is a premium French brand who still make luxury lingerie today. In fact I used to fit their modern bras when I worked in lingerie! The best thing about this is it’s a larger size, around a 38dd I would guess. Shop 1950s Lise Charmel bra Another piece from my own collection is this amazing 1930s corset girdle. It’s a beautifully robust foundation garment with plenty of rigid boning. This could totally be worn to create that authentic vintage silhouette, or just kept on display. It’s such an amazing piece of fashion history. 1930s corset girdle now sold. This detail is from a very lovely pair of 1930s knickers. Again I just love all the delicate details and attention to detail that went into these garments. These are made from lovely soft cotton and are just beautiful. They make a great set with some of the other 30s pieces I have in the shop at the moment. Shop 1930s knickers.

If you love vintage lingerie and nightwear, watch this space. I have a lot more landing very very soon.

Clothing

Yet another piece from my own collection (can you tell I’m downsizing?!) this lovely 1950s lace jacket is perfect as an extra layer over a dress for summer or would look gorgeous styled with a simple pair of jeans. I love the pretty lace and versatile colour. Aprox size 14. Shop 1950s lace jacket.

This dress was also one of mine that I’ve decided to let go. Mostly because I just have too many dresses. this simple 80s cowl neck dress has such a pretty print and is lovely and light for summer. Aprox size 14. Shop 1980s cowl neck dress

This lovely 70s summer dress is actually worn off the shoulders, but my mannequin sadly has no shoulders, so just try to imagine it! Isn’t she the most gorgeous dress for summer. Wear her for picnics, wear her to festivals and concerts, wear her everywhere. I would style her with a long headscarf, some fabulous sandals and lots of boho jewellery. Aprox size 10. Shop 1970s summer dress.

Jewellery

I’ve included some lovely pink jewellery in the collection, to compliment all the other gorgeous pieces. Think feminine florals and a mix of materials. I’ve been listing a lot of clothing recently, but I’ve always had a big focus on jewellery in the shop and there will be a lot more of it over the next few collections.

These lovely plastic featherlight clip on earrings are the perfect accessory for a pretty vintage outfit. Isn’t the colour so pretty! Being so lightweight they won’t weigh down your ears either. Shop pink featherlight earrings

I’ve started to slowly sell off my collection of vintage embroidered brooches. So expect to see lots of lovely designs popping up on the shop over the next few months. This blue one with a pretty blossom design is just so pretty! Shop blue embroidered brooch

Another lovely embroidered brooch, this time featuring a wild rose design. This one is just so pretty and has some serious cottagecore vibes. This would look lovely on a pretty vintage cardigan or jacket. I also love to display my brooches on a pretty vintage dish on my dresser, as they’re just too pretty to pack away when you’re not using them. Shop wild rose embroidered brooch.

One of my favourite styles of 1950s earrings are the fun lucite confetti earrings. I’ve sold a few pairs of these before and they’re always so popular. I love the pretty pink colour of these. Shop lucite confetti earrings

This vintage KIGU jewellery set is such a delight. They come in their original box and are just so elegant. KIGU are best known for their gorgeous mid century compacts, but they also made beautiful jewellery too. KIGU jewellery set now sold.

The last of the embroidered brooches from this drop. An absolutely gorgeous pink rose design. I love all the different pretty shades of pink, this one is such a classic. Shop rose embroidered brooch

Hair Accessories

Hair accessories have been one of the best sellers on the shop over the last year. I have listed and sent so many to their new homes. Hair clips have been really popular on the high street, but it’s even better to get something vintage and more sustainable. I always have lots of lovely deadstock hair clips available and most are still on their original packaging. This weeks editions are so special.

This fun pink kids hair bow is adorned with gorgeous celluloid flowers. Definitely not just for children, I love adding these to my outfits to finish off the look. Shop 1940s pink hair bow

I have a few of these sweet pink hair clip sets in their original packaging. These ones stay in really well and I love the pretty design. Shop pink deadstock hair clips

Lastly this lovely bobby pin and hair bow set. I’ve had these in quite a few different colours and this lovely pinky red is the latest addition. The packaging on these is just too gorgeous! Shop vintage bobby pin set

I hope you love this little stock drop as much as I enjoyed putting it together. I’m very much looking forward to doing more regular updates on the shop and I already have so many more gorgeous things coming your way. Now I’m off to get on with cleaning, repairing and photographing all the lovely bits I have coming up next.

This is just a small selection of what I have on offer, the shop currently has over 200 vintage items available. Check out the full range over on Vintage Frills Shop.
