It’s been such a busy few months in the world of Vintage Frills, that I’ve not checked in on the blog in a long time! I’m a big goal setter and one of my goals for the month was to take a little time out to write some blog posts. I’ve really missed being here and can’t wait to get back into it.
I may have been quiet on here, but on the selling vintage side of things I’ve been incredibly busy. I’d already had a very successful year acquiring stock for the shop over the summer and was ready to have a bit of a rest. I feel like I’ve been manifesting all the beautiful vintage to come my way and it’s been pretty abundant on the treasure finding front! It’s been one of my best years for buying vintage. And then a lovely lady contacted me saying she was interested in selling some of her collection of Laura Ashley dresses. I will never say no to a Laura and after spending all my savings, suddenly my life was very very busy sorting through around 70 new arrivals!
I always say, being a vintage dealer is 90% repairing, washing and ironing! This is such a true statement when it comes to Laura Ashley dresses! The very best thing about them is how beautiful and full the skirts are, they definitely didn’t scrimp on fabric! But they do take a really long time to iron! So for me December was a month of ironing for sure! But I’ve managed to get quite a few of the gorgeous collection on the shop and still have quite a few more to come.
The collection spans the 70s, 80s and 90s and so far I’ve mostly focussed on getting the winter dresses up on the shop, so if you love needlecord or wool blend dresses as well as 70s and early 80s cotton smock dresses then I have plenty! I’ve also listed and sold some amazing 70s maxi dresses. I’ve put aside a lot of lovely things for Spring and Summer so keep checking back to see what’s new.
I’ve also currently got a sale running on the shop, because with all the abundance of vintage also comes a lack of storage space. So I’ve reduced a lot of things by 30-50%, so if you’re looking for some discounted treasure, then you’ve come to the right place.
Over the coming weeks I’ll share some of the new arrivals and generally try to post a bit more. So please check back soon.
