Forecasters have warned that “the worst winter of modern times” is on its way to Britain this year. So it’s time to stock up on shovels, grit and de-icer for the car. But more importantly it’s time to think about choosing a winter coat. It can be hard choosing a coat that will keep you snug and look fabulous, especially when looking for something vintage appropriate.
These are some of my favourite options for keeping snug this winter…
1. Puttin on the Ritz, 2. Collectif, 3. ASOS, 4. Collectif, 5. Vivien of Holloway
1. Puttin on the Ritz, Winter in Paris Coat, £275
I love this beautiful 1930s style winter coat. It comes in three different fabric finishes and a selection of faux fur collars. It’s not cheap but it will go with everything and last year after year.
2. Collectif, Pearl Coat, £165
This beautiful coat is the most stunning coat I’ve seen in ages, it is ridiculously glamorous! The faux fur trim looks very realistic and the pleated waist will flatter curves no end.
3. Asos, Vintage Style Cocoon Coat, £110
This pretty feminine coat, which injects a bit of colour into the cold winter. This would look great with a 1960s wardrobe.
4. Collectif, Lady Leanora Leo Coat, £110
I am a little obsessed with leopard print and I think every woman should own a faux fur coat. This is very similar to my winter coat and I absolutely love the shape.
5. Vivien of Holloway, Swagger Jacket, £120
This may not be the warmest option but I absolutely love this 50s style jacket which is available in 2 colours.
Which of the five is your favourite? Have you bought a new winter coat this year and if so is it vintage or vintage style?

November 19, 2013 at 2:40 pmWhat a lovely post! The Pearl Coat is calling my name most of all here (if it wasn’t for the steep exchange rate, I’d be very tempted!), but I’d happily rock any one of them.

December 10, 2013 at 3:38 amI love the look of vintage winter coats. I just got a great deal on a beautiful classic coat from Burlington. They have great prices, so I was able to get my coat for about $60 less than I had seen it for in the department stores.
