On Sunday I visited my new favourite London event, The Classic Car Boot Sale. I really love the mix of classic cars and vintage things for sale and the location on The South Bank is absolutely perfect. I met a few friends there and had several glasses of Pimms from the double-decker bus bar and then spent the rest of the afternoon looking through lots of fantastic vintage stalls.
The selection of vintage clothing and accessories was absolutely fantastic with lot’s of beautiful early pieces. Prices varied from stall to stall but most were pretty reasonable. I bought a gorgeous early 60s dress and 5 pairs of Nylon stockings which I will feature in another post. My favourite spots of the day were a few pairs of 1940s shoes and a very beautiful 1930s dress which sadly were a little out of my price range.
There were also lot’s of fantastic classic cars on show, as well as camper vans, scooters and motor cycles. It was great chatting to the stall holders about their cars and the vintage bits they were selling. The whole event had a great atmosphere.
I had such a busy morning with the kids that I literally spent 5 minutes getting ready, I threw on this vintage 80s does 50s dress with a white cardigan and plimsoles. The weather was so beautiful, and it felt great wearing a summer dress again! I did however feel a little boring next to some of the more fabulously attired vintage ladies.
I made a little video while I was there to capture the spirit of the event a little…
Did you go along to the event? What did you think and did you buy anything?
