My Week in Pictures 5

April 6, 2014

I say this every Sunday, but I can’t believe another week has gone by, I also can’t believe we’re into April now, however we’ve definitely been enjoying the lovely weather this week.

I had another quiet week, however with Jessica breaking up from school on Friday I’m sure this coming week will be a far busier one.

This weeks favourite snack was Greek yogurt with honey and blueberries. I bought a huge tub of yogurt from the local Greek food shop last week so have eaten absolutely loads.

Earlier in the week Faye came round and sat with Lila in the garden doing lot’s of painting and art, we had so much fun that I’ve had the paints outside almost every day, lots of beautiful artwork (and mess) has been made but we’ve had loads of fun being able to enjoy the glorious sunshine.

On Wednesday we met up with Faye and after a much-needed early morning Starbucks we headed to Wimbledon Car Boot Sale. I got loads of really great stuff, some to go Ebay and some to keep. While I was there I spotted my very favourite seller. If you’ve read this blog for a while you may know about my little obsession with Bakelite Man, as I like to call him. He always has loads of fabulous early plastic items on his stall and I love to have a little rummage. I have a beautiful 1940s bakelite bracelet at home which Rob bought from him last year.

I keep all my jewellery in my grandmas old jewellery box, a few months ago I made the mistake of shutting it and doing up the lock. The lock is completely broken and once locked is near impossible to get into. Having trapped my jewellery away for a very long time, I made the difficult decision this week to force my way in. Sadly I had to break the lock and the jewellery box will never be the same again! I was happy to get my hands on a few bit’s of jewellery that I’ve not seen in ages though.

One of my car boot purchases was 3 huge jars of buttons, I decided to try to sort them out into colours, and used my favourite method which is to sort them into a muffin tray. There were some great ones there, I’m going to keep a few to use on sewing projects I have planned and sell the rest.

On Friday Lila and I spent the day with my friend Kelly and her little boy who is the same age as Lila, we popped to a soft play area and had an absolutely lovely time. the little ones are so cute together and have the loveliest little friendship.

That evening I had a babysitter so Rob and I popped out to see some friends. I totally forget to take any pictures but it was great to have a little time together as we usually end up going out separately.

Yesterday the weather was lovely again and after an early trip to a car boot sale we spent the rest of the day in the garden. I decided to try a little messy play with the girls and filled a couple of tubs with spaghetti and shaving foam which they had loads of fun making a big mess with. It took ages to clear up but it was great seeing them have fun and playing together.

Today I was up bright and early while everyone else had an epic lie in. I decided to make some bread for breakfast which I topped with some seeds, it came out perfect and was a great start to the day.

Sadly it was really wet out, and all the car boot sales I’d been looking forward to visiting were cancelled, so we spent the rest of the day watching frozen and playing. A couple of days ago I decided to freeze one of the girls toys in a big block of ice and make lots of multi coloured ice cubes for the girls to play with. They had so much fun trying to break through the ice and get the toy back and it was a great rainy day activity!

I have quite a lot planned for next week. Tomorrow and Tuesday will be spent having lot’s of fun with the girls. They are both going to stay with family at the end of next week and Rob and I are going to have a big spring clean and house makeover so watch this space for lots of home pictures.

What do you have planned for next week.

Greek yogurt is amazing, I agree. I think it’s one of those foods I could happily eat every day for life and never tire of.
