10% Discount at The Fabulous Miss K

April 4, 2014

I think many people with a passion for vintage dream of one day designing their own range of reproduction dresses. One lady who managed to fulfil this dream is the lovely Karen of The Fabulous Miss K, who launched her beautiful range of 1940s inspired dresses last year.

Karen has been a vintage enthusiast for years having grown up watching and admiring the glamour of old Hollywood. After working as a make-up artist in London and Paris for many years, she settled in Norfolk and began to turn her love of vintage into a career.

She works as stylist specialising in vintage fashion and has worked with many publications and events including many fashion shows. What an amazing job! Last year she started work on her first collection and The Fabulous Miss K was born.

The gorgeous dresses, which are based on 1940s dresses from her own collection, are refreshingly simple and elegant. The cuts are classic and wouldn’t look out-of-place in a period drama of the era. What I especially like is the attention to detail, the fabric is thick and very high quality and the buttons at the front actually open, unlike many reproduction dresses. They’re the kind of garments that will last you many years and never go out of style.

If you’re looking for the perfect outfit for a vintage or 1940s themed event and are looking for authenticity then this is a company I would definitely recommend. Paired with a fabulous hat and fur stole they would look absolutely stunning.

On the other hand if the re-enactment look isn’t so much your style the dresses could also be paired with more modern accessories for a classic everyday look. Either way I love them and can’t wait to save up for one to add to my wardrobe. I’m thinking a blue striped one for me as I absolutely adore them!

You can check out the whole collection here.
