I’ve always really liked the classic styles and prints of Boden clothes. They can fit really well into a vintage wardrobe and I always love to see how other bloggers style their Boden outfits. One of my favourite dresses is the Nancy Dress which I wore in an outfit post last year. A few weeks ago I popped along to the Boden AW15 press day to see what they had in store for us later in the year.
The press day itself was absolutely gorgeous, the decoration was amazing and the quintessentially British theme worked so well alongside all the lovely clothes. Each area was sectioned off to look like little shops housing different parts of the collection and there was a central area with park benches, trees and even a busker!
This Autumn and Winter sees a new chapter for Boden, they have completely shaken up their offering with a far more fashion forward approach to their designs. The look is very different to their past collections and although I liked what they were doing before, their new designs offer the same quality we’d previously seen with a far more innovative feel.
All Hail New British is the theme of the day and Boden are trying to be bold as they reinvent themselves while still retaining the former warmth and wit that has always made their clothes stand out against their competitors.
The colour palette begins with a selection of bright bold feminine clothes and block colours. This is all about mixing and matching and being brave with colour. There was great selection of separates which would be absolutely perfect for forming a capsule wardrobe. The collection is complimented by bright accessories and shoes to finish the look perfectly.
If cooler more muted shades are more your cup of tea, the mint, dusty pink and soft neutral shades sat beside the new Hunters of Brora Hertitage Tweed archive items, will be more up your street. This classic feminine colour palette has some beautiful key pieces and they all mix and match perfectly.
The Johnnie B teen collection is eclectic and very trendy. With it’s spirit of youthful rebellion the fun colours and absolutely amazing shoes, would be perfect for fashion focused teens. I’m eyeing up all the cute accessories for myself too!
The range that I found most inspiring was a throwback to the sixties and seventies with a fantastic eclectic colour palette and a quirky use of fabric and texture. The gold dress pictured above is the piece I particularly have my eye on and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
For the little ones, there is plenty of the usually cute and comfy clothing you’d expect from Boden. The children’s collection features lots of colour and pretty printed cottons and fairisle knits. I’ve always loved Boden’s children’s clothes and wish they were slightly more in my budget so I could deck my two girls out in their lovely stuff!
I was really impressed with Boden’s new approach to their already successful brand and I’m really looking forward to seeing people’s responses when the new pieces become available later in the year.
