In Celebration of Cheese!

In Celebration of Cheese! Putting together the perfect cheese boardThere are loads of things I love about Christmas and one of those is cheese! To be fair my cheese habit is one I indulge in year round, but Christmas gives me the chance to be a bit extra! A few weeks ago I was sent some samples from Opies and Peters Yard and I used a few of them to put together a yummy cheese board.

In Celebration of Cheese! Putting together the perfect cheese boardTo me there is no wrong or right was to put together a cheese board, but there are a few things that I always like to include. A selection of crackers, apple and grapes and some kind of pickle or chutney always go down a treat.

In Celebration of Cheese! Putting together the perfect cheese boardI recently discovered pickled walnuts, I’d never tried them before. They are a perfect compliment to cheese and crackers and would also be a great topper for a canapé. They have a great texture and a lovely strong flavour. I particularly liked them with a strong cheddar.

In Celebration of Cheese! Putting together the perfect cheese boardThe Peters Yard crackers I was sent are also delicious. I particularly liked the charcoal ones, which went really well with all the different cheeses I chose. They have a great selection of different cracker and crisp bread options and I’ve been trying them all over the last few weeks. Best of all the kids really like them too, so they make a great sack for them.

Putting together the perfect cheese boardCheese wise, I just grabbed a few of my favourites in LIDL but they now have their full Christmas ranges in, so you could just go cheese crazy. I opted for brie, gouda, danish blue, red Leicester, and stilton. I’ll be putting another one together this week with a more festive offering.

I love presenting my cheese boards in the most beautiful way possible, nothing looks better than a gorgeous spread. Eventually I like an absolutely huge cheese board to make even more impressive displays.

You can find Peter’s Yard products in Sainsburys and Waitrose and Opies products in most supermarkets.

Anyway cheese is the best, I’m off to look at cheese board ideas on Pinterest. brb.

This post includes products that were sent to me to try. All opinions are my own.

This is all a bit much for me but in the best way – for so long I couldn’t have the cheese that I loved but not it is a free for all! The amount of cheese in my shopping basket today was an absolute joke!!!
