Christmas is fast approaching and the do list is filling up with things to do. From choosing a Christmas tree to writing Christmas cards and of course choosing the perfect gifts for everyone, it’s definitely all very fun but also can be hard work. I like to keep my Christmas as stress free as possible, I focus on making it fun, having lots of family time and making it as magical as possible for the kids. I don’t believe in spending an absolute fortune at Christmas so I’m always on the look out for bargains. For the last few years I’ve bought a lot of the girls gifts from TK Maxx, so when I was invited to choose them a few things and write about the experience I absolutely jumped at the chance.
Christmas Shopping at TK Maxx
TK Maxx make Christmas shopping easy, I can usually find something for everyone I know because there is much variety under one roof. I can choose beauty gifts for my friends, books and toys for the kids, food gifts for relatives and a plethora of pants and socks for Rob! I also can never resist a quick look at all their amazing decorations too.
I was gifted a £200 gift voucher to find some lovely bits for the girls and popped to the Oxford Street store to see what I could find. Lila is always really easy to shop for. At 8 years old she still absolutely love toys and cute things. At 13 Jess is a little harder to buy for as she’s more interested in clothes and accessories now and definitely has her own tastes and preferences – a total minefield to buy for in fact!
Gifts for Kids
Naturally I headed straight for the toys, to get the easy bit out of the way. I found countless bits that Lila would like and chose a few lovely things.
She’s always looking for new inhabitants for her dolls house, so the horse and doll set was a great choice for her, I know she’ll get hours of fun playing with it.
She adores Llamas and takes bedtime very seriously, so when I popped the snuggly Llama microwavable hottie I was really pleased. I finished off the gift with a fun nail set and a couple of little toy sets that I know she’ll love.
Gifts for Teens
On to Jess’s gifts I found an awesome red designer hoodie that I know she’ll wear loads, she loves sporty casual clothes and the colour is absolutely lovely. She needed a new back pack and this blue one was absolutely perfect, really smart and such a pretty colour.
I thought it would be really nice to choose her a special piece of jewellery and there was absolutely loads of choice in the jewellery section. I decided on a simple sterling silver heart necklace, that I know she’ll love.
I finished with a new set of hair straighteners. There were loads of styling products to choose from and now she won’t keep borrowing mine and not giving them back!
TK Maxx have lots of these great hampers in all their stores, which have everything you need to make a gorgeous gift. I picked a couple up to put together for the girls, I’ll be adding a few extra treats and then wrapping them in cellophane and ribbon in place of Christmas stockings this year.
I’ll definitely be popping back to TK Maxx to grab some more bits for other family members, but for now I’m really happy to have made a big dent in my Christmas shopping, all in under an hour. I may even buy a few new treats for myself!
